It's a tech term, used to describe how useless information input will give you useless information output. Something along the lines of "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer".
(Of course, we can always apply this to ourselves. We are what we _______. Or, as B puts it, I _______, therefore I am.)
Perhaps, with Resurrection Sunday coming up soon, we can take some time to evaluate ourselves?
What have we been feeding ourselves on lately?
Has our "food" been nutritious to us, or killing us softly from the inside?
Is what we listen/read/watch/do everyday *beneficial*?
(Do I sound threatening now?) *poke poke*
Hmm, myself, there's loads of stuff I do hope to stop doing. I do hope to get rid of my citizenship of the nation of ProcrastiNation as well. Lousy country. I don't see any change coming along, nor any hope in it.
A change is gonna come
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

wishlist!
"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give."
-Jn 14:27
(Before I start, I would like to say this wishlist is not to be followed. It is merely an inclination of my own materialistic nature at this point in time. That said, I would love prayers as birthday gifts. My own prayer is that all of you will come to know the God of all creation and universe and have a relationship with Him. He is the giver of all love, pleasures everlasting are in His right hand, and He gives everyone who asks of Him the peace that transcends all understanding, to live their lives on earth. He gave you life, He gave you Jesus, He also gives you free will to make your own choices.)
As usual, April approaches with much fanfare for the finals.

Now, that's a book to read! How did I finish reading it before I finished reading The Screwtape Letters? By reading one of the simplest translations of the Bible (personally, so far), the New Living Translation!
It's simple, everyday language that is easier to read and understand than NIV. Highly recommended for youths lah, I feel.
So what is 1 Samuel about? As you all know, Hannah was a barren woman, who seeked God at the temple. Here, she made the promise of her lifetime-that if she were to conceive, the first child would be dedicated to do the work of God.
That child was Samuel. (After Samuel, God gave Hannah many other children!) Now Samuel was the priest of the temple, sorta like the leader. But the people wanted a king! It was not for Israel to have a king-because they already had a leader. And having a king would be akin to changing the whole politics of the country. (God had in mind for a godly man to lead a nation) But what would Samuel do now?

at cilantro
Sadly, it did not live up to my expectations. So I will only blog about the good stuff there, and look forward to Taylor's fine dining in one of their "T" restaurants in the Lakeside campus. Ooh!
This was the appetizer. The purplish maroon thing in the foreground is pomengranate. Very nice to eat. The lump of meat in the middle is chicken (or was it duck?) in balsamic vinaigratte. Super sour, super yum with the meat!
Soup was tomato.
The main course. I like the...uh...uhm.. :x I didn't know US scallops had the consistency of mushy fishcake! :x
JQ's main. Hers was almost the same as mine, but she had a big prawn on top of lots of garlic-infused couscous. I liked this one better.
Part of my 3part dessert. So cute!
The tart-ish pie on the left is blueberry tart pie with chocolate base. So delicious, not too sweet, but too bad it's just a tiny slither of that :(
As much as I enjoyed eating there, I don't think I'll ever go back there again. Unless some things improve. To Taylor's Lakeside fine dining!

fatboy slim @ f1 party
He is the DJ (who made?) right here, right now and that funk-soul-brother song (right about now, funk soul brother) and the remix of Cornershop's Brimful of Asha.
If you wanna see a 90s flash mob looks like, see Fatboy Slim's MV for praise you.
Just like last year, I cannot go watch it even if I could because of the FINALS. Yup, it always happens around this time. That means...if another strange musician is slated to perform next year who I really wanna watch, I still can't go for it. xD oh well. (i doubt the heat is bearable anyway)

i thank God for the opportunity to be involved in the dance ministry.

the philosophy of proper blogging
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep this philosophy in mind the next time you hear, or are out to repeat a rumour.
In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom.
One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance, who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students...? "
"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Test of Three."
"Test of Three?"
"That's correct," Socrates continued.
"Before you talk to me about my student let's take a moment to test what you're going to say.. The first
test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man replied, "actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates.. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second test,
the test of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him even though you're not certain it's true?"
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued, "You may still pass though because there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you
want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really..."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell
it to me at all?"
The man was defeated and ashamed and said no more.

lionel
"Do it. You know you want to. Nobody's looking. It's all yours."
The voice in my head tells me to pour out all my burdens on this blog 0_0 how peculiar.
Anyway, yesterday was spent at church for an hour, nursing a headache while picking up flowers, wrapping them haphazardly and picking up the girls. Then we (YX, Cher, Na) were off to 1U to surprise Ms. 20 Y.O. and her BF, who was having a high fever. We went home around 8pm after sitting in Chili's for close to three hours (!).(Pictures after my 5-chapter Finance quiz, Environmental Science essay, Marketing Research questionnaire collection and Consumer Behavior report compilation.)
Sunday was spent at church :) JQ, if you're reading this your group was excellent, they talked a lot, but the two boys talked too much, so I minus their points. One guy is running on -100 points.
Lemonade in GHM in honor of Lionel the Lemon (Patience), under the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

grocery shopping
Grocery shopping is something I like to do. There's a variety of household items to browse through, and so many new items to try out.
The other day I was shopping at Giant. I like shopping at Giant. The stuff there is cheaper than other places, especially if you wanna buy Malaysian goods. I mean, Jusco is bright and shiny and all, but they mark up the prices so much just cos it's from Japan! The only reason I like Jusco is for their specialty Japanese goods section (yes, they have one. In every branch!) where you can find lotsa strange Japanese foodstuff. Like Pocari Sweat.
One thing I don't like about shopping at Giant is the mannequins they place in the clothing area. SERIOUSLY. I don't know how many times I've seen it, but I still get the creeps when I see it. You should check them out at the Klang Parade branch.
I wanted to take a picture of a badly positioned mannequin, but I was alone and it was early in the morning. No one was around. *shiver* The mannequins basically are/have:
1. Badly dressed
2. Freaky smiley facial expressions
3. Facial structure that doesn't look like those in retail outlets
4. Have wigs that fall off easily
5. Positioned in corners so that when you come up to one unexpectedly you get a cardiac arrest
6. PLACED IN DARK AREAS AWAY FROM SPOTLIGHTS.
It's a horror movie ready to happen. I'm surprised no one's complained about it yet. Those mannequins have no function but to scare away customers.
Shopping in Giant is better than shopping in Jusco because of the music selection. Giant is using Red FM's airwaves, but no commercials and all. And you know how good the Red FM music taste is. The *only* radio station that (still) plays Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire and Hanson's Doo Wop (Dr. House's ringtone).
When I was working in Jusco though, the selection was on a loop of Meet Me Halfway, Hey Soul Sister, Evacuate the Dance Floor, Papparazzi and all mainstream current English songs. It gets boring after a while.
Oh! Another reason I like shopping in Giant is the selection of goods they have. Since Giant belongs to the group that owns Cold Storage and Guardian, there are goods sold there that are brought to Giant, too. AT GIANT PRICES! HELLO!
Like this Cadbury chocolate bar in a flavor we never got before-Rocky Road (cherry flavored jellies, coconut flakes, peanuts). YUMS! The last time I saw this in Cold Storage, it was RM 24.90. WAAAH SO MAHAL FOR A BAR OF CHOCOLATE SIAO MEH
I got one bar from Giant this week for only RM 12.99 :D
(Yup, I'm more adult than teenager)
Now I'm waiting till they bring in the Mint flavored chocolate, and the very strange but delicious sounding Desserts selection (which has Lemon Cheesecake, Berry Panacotta, Creme Brulee, Fudge Brownie, Banoffee Pie [Banana+Toffee], Tiramisu) YUMS X 2 :D
Tesco, I don't go so much. But there are lots of unique items there like Weight Watchers desserts and animal-shaped pasta. Even SpongeBob and Spiderman pasta. Not kidding.

all He needs is you; all you need is Him
...for more sincerity of others.
(currently thankful for the sincerity I see.)
currently craving...
...for less self-centered companions.
(currently thankful for the unabashedly selfless people around me.)
currently craving...
...for more time.
(currently thankful for the things I can do in the time that I have)
The secret to happiness, according to the Bible, is caring more and serving others more than you serve yourself. Tough man. It's tough. But there is much truth to it! Once you give yourself up, you discover yourself.

february-wedding
4.09pm Private tea ceremony.
According to traditional Chinese customs, the newlyweds are to serve their elders (aunts, uncles, parents, etc) tea and call them by their official Chinese "gelaran" like li ku, li kim and a host of other syllables which can only stay in your short term memory.
After they serve, the younger ones (like cousins, nephews, etc) serve them tea. Here, bride's sister serves tea to the groom. Did I mention ang pows are also given away by the drinkers of the tea as well? Mmm-hmm.
4.36pm Garden wedding/reception?
As the bride is ushered to wardrobe change no. 1, the guests congregate at the beautiful lawn of Guoman facing the sea. The sun was shining down very brightly, and soon, everyone was sweating buckets.
The little flower girl
Here comes the bride!
At last count, there was at least 2 videocameras and 5 SLRs at the wedding.
The jubilant newlyweds
This was also the first time I participated in a "catch the bouquet" throw, which only single ladies are allowed to catch it. (Did I get Beyonce's Single Ladies in your mind yet? Oh, with Kurt in the background? Excellent.)
Iona with much expertise in bouquet-catching (coughcoughaskwhy) emerged the champion.
And the roses are really pretty too. Handmade by the bride herself with durable thin foam all the way from Aussie!
The hip and happening uncles and aunties in floral prints
With the guests from Down Under. No, not Singapore.
The guests were pretty much relieved at the end of the ceremony. Mass swimming pool dunk!
Just kidding.
And that pretty much sums it up! The wunnerful PD marriage of Li June chieh chieh and (uncle) Darryl. 1 Corinthians 13 yo.
