Can't wait to hear it all again!

light has come

christmas is an everyday celebration

pei and the christmas tree at sis kim's cell party. best tree ever!

The year end holidays this year has not felt like a holiday at all - work, GY camp and Christmas practice took up most of my time! But I am absolutely thankful and grateful to God for all the stuff I went through this past two whirlwind months.
Pure awesomeness. God is.

2011!

For now, I'm gonna sit back and listen to Britt Nicole's Holiday.

'Cause when it's work all day
I cannot escape
I just stop to think, and I'm going crazy
Take a break, hey

beauty revisited

I never thought I would say this, but girls, please, you are beautiful no matter what they say. I am sick of ya'll being all self-conscious before a looking glass (that's English talk for mirror) and saying you need to be on a diet - EXCUSE me, you live in Malaysia, a diet is an oxymoron. LOL. Just exercise lah, if you feel out of shape.

Beauty as the world sees it is never forever. If you ask me what is beauty, well, I'm trying to define it as a state of mind, a condition of one's heart and most importantly, the destiny of one's soul. (Woah, deep words) But the truest of all beauty is something else, something more - something supernatural.

rev 21:21

I want to feel, sunlight on my face
See that dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name

Thanks, ZW!

gy camp 2010

GY Camp 10 has come and gone. ("What is GY? Does it stand for GAY?" "Yes, it stands for joyful, happy and full of passion and enthusiasm from the Lord!")

What have you learnt from it? I have learnt a few things, and really am elevated in a sense - to be where God wants me to be, so see things the way He sees it. There's so many things to share, but this is not an appropriate avenue. So I'll just stick to a list of the top ten things of GYC10!!!

zlwin's photoalbum

1. God. Praise and Worship. DJ JC is in the house (forever!)!

2. The youth. So many new faces, so little time!

3. The jokes. Let's reminisce those over green tea and local FRUIITTSSSSS!!!!

4. SP!!!! And the very much impactful speakers. Salute!

5. The games. Renee Koo's galah panjang audio defense and Sher Wyn's leet skillz at Paint War Dead Zone. And Cluedo Live tagline: "Have you seen Jhun Ho?"

6. The committee. This year's one was super downsized. PTL for His hand upon us, PTL.

7. My roomies. The tail-less cicak, 54 criterias, staying up till 4am. (on normal occasions, if i stay up later than 2, i will fall sick the next day. but this is supernormal. God is supernormal.)

8. The secret GAs. Jior, so sweet can.

9. Tiger Court: Star Wars edition

10. His LOVE and GRACE. Before this camp started, I had so much doubts and thoughts on insufficiency on my mind, that all I could think of was how human strength was so foolish and full of folly. Now I know, that in my weakness, his strength is revealed.

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Cor 12:9

...so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

feeling emo?

flickr/Matt Caplin

Whenever I have a bad day, I think of what Isaiah the prophet wrote a long time ago about Jesus - the man of sorrows, friends with the deepest of griefs.

3 He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.

4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.

And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!

5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.

6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.

"Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water."

set apart

as days go by, the ways of this world becomes more and more cold, cynical, heartless, materialistic and self-seeking.

hold tightly to the truth. fix your eyes on what is eternal. that's the only thing that will matter in the end. you have inside you a light that will never go out.

not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.
be set apart. be holy, as your Father in heaven is holy.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

-romans 8:35-37

the truth shall set you free.
if it doesn't set you free,
that's not the truth.

notes on saturday

Hello everybody!

Yours truly just got home from another full day at church. Man. I am loving what God is teaching. Words of the week include: endurance, proclamation. Term of the week: There HAS to be more to life than this. Yeah, you've heard it a million times over, but HAVE YOU EVER let it sink in? Have you found a response to that term?

To-night's plan is to meet up with the pillow talkers for dinner. Hooray! I love meeting up with friends.

Yesterday, JQ invited me for ba kut teh brunch. The surprise was, of course, the two college mates she bought along! Jeez, it was so pleasant, because just that week I was thinking how I owed ZW some Klang BKT before he heads back to his hometown.

I am going to trust in God for everything. Proverbs 3:5,6 is cliched, so say some people, but it is a gem of a truth that sadly gets underplayed. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

ps 37:8

He be telling me:

Stop being angry!
Turn from your rage!
Do not lose your temper—
it only leads to harm.

I was looking for that hymn-ish song "All other ground is sinking sand, on Christ the solid rock I stand" but all I got were choir intepretations and Delirious?'s alt-rock version. Love, love!

Rock on!
