junk

These are junk from my inbox which I'd like to share.

(If you are afraid, hate, despise and are terrified of dolls, scroll down. These pictures will cure your fear of little humans.)

Oops, wrong picture. Here they are:

HOW TO GET RID OF YOUR PHOBIA OF DOLLS

To get rid of your fear of dolls, start spending time with one. If you're terrified that it, sorry, she might suddenly to strangle you when you're alone with her, go outdoors together.

Have something in common with your doll-music, shopping, talking-you can even start a blog for you and your doll! It's all about quality time together.

Don't forget to spend the holidays together! August 31st is a good date to start.

Your doll might appreciate the time both of you spend together looking alike-so try dressing like each other for Halloween!

If you think you can't get rid of your doll-phobia on your own, get a friend to join in your 12-step programme. (LOL)

Most of all, it's about having a friendship with your doll and having fun with her!

So, what are you waiting for? Go out, get a doll, and overcome your phobia of dolls together! I recommend purchasing dolls which look like babies-they are more life-like and 15 times more effective than MyScene Barbie dolls when it comes to getting rid of one's phobia of dolls.

Here's wishing you luck, and have fun!

And, uh...stay away from these kind of dolls.

(imdb.com)

Death is like a blunt knife that was once sharp, now doing more damage than good to everyone. It's not a bold black, but amonotonous grey, lifeless. Death has no life, no happiness, no laughter, no joy, no fullness. When a person dies, nothing happens and everything starts. Nothing in that person's life works anymore-clothes, handphone, diary, clock, blog-just because that person will not be using it again, like he or she usually does. Call it an end, if you want. Everything that surrounded the person-who is now gone-starts. The death arrangements, the mourning and the crying, the condolonces, the bitter tears and the hidden emotions all come out to play. When I die, I don't want people to mourn. Mourning is meaningless. Everyone has to go someday. I'd rather people remember me for who I was then regret the times we could have spent together. Things may be gone forever-laughter shared, relationship bonded, etc, etc-but the only place a person you truly love (and vice versa) lives on is in your heart. Close enough to hear the whispers of silly secrets, close enough to feel the heart stinging when it's broken, close enough to tap on it.

So, what do you think about death?

a picture paints a thousand words

and these are mine. This picture was taken during the choir competition. By far my best shot ever (;)). It was taken in a flash, which explains why the frame looks full. Had it been taken a second earlier or later the picture wouldn't have turned out as such. Duh.

emails are fun

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Chardonnay in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming

"WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!"

videos

This is Dato' Hamzah's pancaragam (brass band). They have a few more videos on YT but I find this interesting.

Kepong's choir. I think they won 'cos they sound more like an adult's choir. The conductor's (private) blog is http://cheekanwong.blogspot.com.

Malaysia's national choir.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight at a convention in KL. Very exotic. Again, our choir sound adorable next to theirs'.

choir

http://niaangel.blogspot.com/

I'm posting this in regards to JQ's post.

First of all, how can "You Raise Me Up" be a Christian song? Granted, yes, Josh Groban DID sing "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" but it doesn't make ALL his songs Christian songs!

And at least the Convent choir can execute the song well. It's so predictable. Something that touches on something else can be blown up to be something so unreasonable.

Am I happy that Convent didn't make it to the finals? No, because they are good singers. Am I unhappy that they got third because the judges labelled You Raise Me Up as a song for church choir? Heck yes!

No one should be rated based on the inspirations of a song or, for that matter, how the song inspires others.

Of course, these are just my rantings. I wasn't there to see the whole thing myself so I can't say anything. BLEK

On another note, this year's inter school pancaragam contest finals will be held in August at Bukit Jalil. The school representing Perak is Sam Tet Secondary School. How do I know this? I read the newspaper. HAHAHAHA. It turns out one of my pen pals studied there as well! According to the newspaper article, the Sam Tet pancaragam played Offspring's Pretty Fly For a White Guy (if you don't know how that song sounds, shame on you) and Tanah Pusaka. I'd like to see how that was carried out.

summer bash

tuesday

I just received an e-mail from The Star saying I've been accepted to join the BRATS camp in Kuching in August. It only costs RM120.

BUT
(there's always a but)

I will not be attending it.

BECAUSE

Do you know how much one ticket to Kuching costs?

RM 848.00

The ticket. Costs. Much more. Than a trip for a family of five to Pangkor.

Of course, it makes sense-we're talking Malaysia Airlines here. It's not spelt A-I-R-A-S-I-A.

I'm not going to complain about this-we're living in a real world, we can't always get what we want. Or, for that matter, need.

The Nuri copter crash is a devastating news. It turns out six of the people on board were all killed. May God bless their souls.

Sudahlah devastating sangat news itu, the bapak of the only woman on board said that in the morning he received news that there were survivors and his daughter was alive. "Terguris" as he puts it.

The rally did not rock. God did.

What does this...

Have to do with this?

My Saturday morning was filled with SPM-bound education. After that, we went to eat. He drove all the way from STAR to MGS just to grab a decent bite. What friends I own.

At 2 my mom dropped me off at church and hid in an alley for half-an-hour while I jumped and sang my heart out to God.
As tired as I was, I gave my all to God and praised Him. And he filled me with His joy to the BRIM. A few representatives (I was the only one for my school) was prayed for and we shouted some stuff and it was 2.30pm. My mom picked me and Jon Kok and dropped us off at Hin Hua. I saw Lydia and Calvin at the main gate. Afterwards we went for the prayer walk.

Adrian Yap shared on Noah's Ark, which was so fitting to the day's event. As hot as it was during the walk, I knew and felt God there. Prayer walk ended at 3.45pm, which meant it ate up the dancer's practice time.

We had to improv-lah. Anyway, it was okay-okay. The girls still will not smile. I went to fetch my mom's friends who were doing our make up for RM 20 per girl. It had to be super thick and we didn't have the experience. Jason from GTA offered to do the short hair girls. Seriously, I didn't know hair and make up could take up to 2 hours for 7 girls. Make up was thick and I liked the hairstyles of everyone. Chun lah.

We ate, sweated, shouted, jumped, talked, sat, complained and got nervous. We prayed the most, I must say. After the make up, before our practice, before the crowd got in, before we went on stage-lots and lots.

The dance? Nothing fantastic, but the audience seem to love it. I heard "Siaw Wei! Siaw Wei!" the most. LOL. She's the most quiet of us all. Thank God nothing went wrong. I believed we all enjoyed serving Him that night. The song that we danced to was an edited version of Arise by Planet Shakers. I have to thank God for using Jon to cut the song. 5 times. Or more. GOD IS SO GOOD! He used us to pump the crowd up.

Praise and Worship was afterwards. Directly afterwards. So after we got off, Nisha and I went as front as we could to the stage and praised Him. The girl in front of me wasn't really praising God-she was enjoying the whole thing like it was a concert of sorts. To each man his own. There was also a choir team! The more the merrier, no?

The girl leading the fast songs was wearing, of all things, a pendrive around her neck. Go figure. U-Mae was cool on stage leading the slower songs-God was surely moving around us. Some may not have felt it, but I knew He was next to me.

Speaking of to each man his own, before the whole event started, this girl in a Hin Hua shirt asked me what was the event all about ('cos the praise and worship was practising on stage). She asked, "Is it like a battle of the bands?"

The emcees of the year were Brian and Amy from La Salle and Convent. I think. Anyway, they were versatile. This is the only year the theme can change repeatedly.

Pastor Gurmit Singh shared a message. He was the one who came to Harvest Youth last year. Pastor Gideon from GT was also there! He was the pastor at last year's Pow Wow. It was great to talk to them afterwards. The camel message by Pastor Gurmit was weird...but it made sense.

To all who have received Jesus into their lives on Saturday, I want to give you a big hug and say welcome to the family. You're on the greatest life journey you can ever choose to participate in. To those who didn't accept Jesus last Saturday, we'll be seeing you next year.

No more Thursday afternoons at High School...no more Thursday night practices at Fellowship Hall. No more going to Charlotte's house. No more Hwa Hui and Siaw Wei chatting together. No more Nicole raising her voice in exasperation. No more Nisha and I with all of them. No more "SMILE SMILE THREE FOUR, SMILE SMILE SEVEN SMILE!" along to Arise. No more Yee Ling and her big smile. No more Tsien Lee adding hip-hop elements to the routine. Tsien Lee was the only one absent from Saturday's event due to certain reasons.

Did you know that we originally had eight dancers? 2 reps from 4 schools. It dwindled down to SEVEN last Friday. Did I also mention that the rally was held on the seventh day of the seventh month of 2007? I don't think it was a coincidence.

To all who have made a difference for God on Saturday, I say to you, YOUR JOB IS NOT DONE. Gambatte! To the leaders (including Cally), thank you for being there. YOUR JOB IS NOT DONE and God leads.
To the people who came just for the sake of saying "I've been to the rally and I walked out/camwhored/sms-ed/talked/looked for hot guys/look for hot girls/went to mamak when the pastor was talking.", I say to you, I am this close to whacking you in the face and kicking your behinds. If you ever see my face again, you'd watch your back.

Good night!

XOXO

Doom da da di da di Doom da da di da di

The only way we could encourage people to smile in choir was to sing the chorus of this shockingly infectious song.
It's the also theme song for Star World.

Smile! It's good for your muscles.
