everlasting

A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

The last part of this song is another song. Love that part!

When I go to someones' facebook page, the first thing I look out for is a blog link. Plus points if they're still on blogspot; everyone and their cat has a tumblr now.

Then I see if they've recently updated the blog. Sometimes it's just an old page of history that the author doesn't bother to delete; other times it's updated so frequently that it looks like a tumblr. Haha!

*

Blogs are so private. I don't feel right reading a blog when someone is looking behind me. "Why you reading that fella's blog?!" It feels like an invasion of privacy, although the blogger (and reader) are aware that everything's out in the open in a post.

Beware what you blog. A rule of thumb is to never let anything too personal make it to your blog post. Something safe to blog about would be your interests. Which is why my blog posts have been lately dedicated to my interests. Okay, you know what, I'm not at liberty to tell you how to blog. All I can say is, don't go down the Kenny Sia road. Have you seen his posts lately? It's all about his health. =.=

Have you noticed the Home and About bar on this page? You can have one for yourself too! Under the posting tab, click edit pages.

mylipstuff

My Lip Stuff is a US brand of lip stuff. They have over 400 flavors of lipbalm, even...BACON. Mmmm. This one here is Shamrock Shake. I have no idea what it is, but it's a vanilla and peppermint combo. Nyum. It's a smoother glide than lipice, and better moisturising properties than Body Shop lip balms. The only downside is the smell disappears faster than most.

This is my first online blogshop purchase (kolot I know but postage v expensive). The next flavor to try will be Pancakes and Syrup, definitely! Mmm.

Much thanks to Cynthia for bringing these stuff in from the US! Only RM 12 per tube of lipbalm.

And, check out Seenamon for a bargain on an LBD you'll never get anywhere else! Comes with a pair of bejeweled earrings.

the sultan's museum

Sometimes the mouth (or the tongue, whichever you prefer) is a dangerous thing. If you think about it, there really is no need to say the many words we say each day. More words more trouble.

Which is why I like guys. They are so quiet. You cannot get them to speak more than 5 words in a sentence. Especially if they are meeting you for the first time. HAHAHA

*

Today I had the car, so I drove to class and back. On the way back, I went into the Klang museum of Sultan-ic stuff (LOL). It's next to the post office besar. Okay, I actually drove in 'cos there were parking lots =.= I had to go in the post office to collect something but there was double + triple parking all around. That won't do, right?

So as I alighted from the car, the security guard told me I could not park there. Then I said I was going to visit the museum. He walked away after that...so I had to walk around the museum. Lots of Sultan stuff. Kedaulatan Selangor.

*

There's even a royal family tree in there. I believe most of the members are commoners now. And dei, there's this one Sultan who has 8 wives! Don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me in the dark hall, but yeah, that family tree had 8 ladies' names (plus their kids) next to the sultan.

The courtyard, if you wanna call it that, is so pretty. Very bright and airy. Good spot to take wedding pictures. I was probably the only visitor that day.

Yep, it's a nice place to go. Klang got standard wan, k...

*

After the short trip, I found a parking spot behind the post office and went to pick up the stuff. But I didn't have my wallet with me...so I showed the guy my diary. "This is my study plan," I said, pointing to my name and subjects listed, "...and this is my name, and phone number," He gave that -_- look and handed the parcel over.

We are not called to change people. God never said "thou must change thy neighbour to be more like Me". Changing is something God will do. You just take care of yourself, and develop yourself to your fullest potential.

If your neighbour needs your help, they'll ask you for it. In the mean time, take out your plank before looking at his splinter.

Which reminds me, Sam, the songs on your CD today very nice leh.

Last week, I got me one of this in Sg. Wang! Not in this lime green shade, but in an acid yellow. It's a waterproof analogue camera. Shopping blogs call it the Aqua Pix Waterproof Camera, but the box I got it in has no brand nor manufacturer's address. Suspicious? You bet. But at RM 39 a pop, it's much more cheaper than online prices (RM 69 on a blog, RM 135 on lowyat forum).

What's funny though, is that the online sites try to sell it as a lomo cam. I don't think it's a lomo loh. What do the photographers say? Made in China plastic camera or a mass-produced lomo cam venture gone wrong?

PS: This camera need film one hor.

Note to self: PR NGO brochure, 3 fold draft. MKT assignment.

It's officially the one-week break now, which is halfway through, although there's still another class on Friday morning. Then it's balik kampung time.

*

God is an AWESOME God. He's put in me this love for learning new things from Him. When I was a baby Christian, every Sunday preaching I heard was new stuff that really spoke to me. Like, Matthew 6:19-21. I could apply everything the pastor preached into my daily life! He blesses me with wonderful times, man.

As I grew in my faith over the years, I thought that there were more things to be learnt that I probably could not learn in the church and had to go find out on my own.

I mean to say, when you've sat through 54 Sunday morning preachings, you've probably sat through it all, no? Well, WRONG! He has proven me wrong once again, letting me know that ALL wisdom and ALL knowledge comes only from Him. And man, with that amount of infinite wisdom and STUFF up there, you'd want to know MORE.

Like, why isn't the dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible?

Friends, we need only to ask Him for things we want to learn about.

Then crack open that Bible and dirty it up (with your notes!)!

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God."

Whenever I hear of news of christians (quote needed) doing things they should not be doing, I'd rather keep quiet about it because:

1. EVERYONE knows what they do/plan to do is against the word of God.

2. EVERYONE is against it.

3. EVERYONE wants to kill the fella who instigates such an act (which brings us again to EVERYONE #1)

You know it, I know it. Why do we add fuel to the fire? Hay man, even a fool looks intelligent keeping his mouth shut.

Walk two miles. Give your coat too. Turn the other cheek.

not my skills

The pictures I take for Seenamon used to be really good, then really juvenile, and now, starting to get better a little bit. But today I'm not going to talk about my photog skills; no, I will be talking about what JQ blogged about our newest collection.

Seenamon is cheap.
So cheap it makes your wallet weeps.

a vegan leather camera strap!

dreamer strap giveaway
image from mycakies.blogspot.com

This, my friends, is a vegan leather camera strap! I bet you didn't know these kind of things existed :p

Doesn't it look soft and nice to touch? Heheh. The dreamer label also works well for those who love to take pictures.

mycakies is giving this awesome camera strap away for free! Check this out for more info. It's so easy to join!

polaroid!

My last blog post included a Polaroid picture from Flickr, and today's post is also about Polaroid!

Late last year, I had a guess that lomocams would soon be out of sight, pushed from the scene by Polaroids. Guess what? That proved to be correct! After Gaga was made creative director of Polaroid (it's a brand and product name), everything P burst into the scene.

Less random and more reliable than lomos in terms of the images produced, Polaroids are well known due to its instantaneousity (not a real word). Snap, get a picture!

I only have one Polaroid image so far. It's of my sister and I when we were younger, sitting on a huge elephant at the Royal London Circus. :P cheesy but very funny.

to build & to protect

(source-kimicon)

This Saturday evening was pretty much spent worrying about the future. It's always like this! When I feel like there's too much to handle in so small a time frame, I worry anxiously like a chicken. Fleeting thoughts of the future entered and exited my mind as I sat to watch Batteries Not Included (a very old Spielberg flick), eat dinner and washed the dishes afterwards.

Don't you just hate it when anxiety takes over and you can't concentrate fully on what you're doing?

Thankfully there is always the Word of God for me to go to! I don't know how I would survive without it. That, and prayer.

So I thought of opening to Psalm 121 (the where-does-my-help-come-from psalm), but my eyes caught on Psalm 127 verses 1 and 2, which aptly describes what God is trying to tell me:

"Unless the Lord builds a house,
the work of the builders is wasted.
Unless the Lord protects a city,
guarding it with sentries will do no good.

It is useless for you to work so hard
from early morning until late at night,
anxiously working for food to eat;
for God gives rest to his loved ones."

Amen!

School holidays are here yo! For the students, at least. I've one more week of lectures to go. (Feature writing class is cancelled btw. So I've replaced it with PR-decidedly less interesting and more uninteresting. See what i did there? I just used the same terms)

Good night!
