"Eh, you saw the bapak ayam ah?"-Albert, regarding KFC's mascot

Sometimes I see the little children and I feel like gobbling them up with a big pitchfork and some ground black pepper.

Like, how can you not? They run around you like some out-of-control aeroplane on a sugar rush with a swarm of bees chasing them.

*Grins*
Is it true that when someone thinks about something they like they grin like a doofus? Or is it just a voluntary contraction of their facial muscles? 'Cos I just heard Tokyo Drift and grinned like an idiot, but I totally abhor drifting and all that nonsense which guzzles fuel like there's no tomorrow.

(Rubik's cube please!)

"Love is patient, love is kind. Love means slowly losing your mind,"

I just watched 27 Dresses! Muahahaha.
Thanks to my mom.

At the beginning, Jane (Katherine Heigl) was holding this white paper bag with the words "A..." on it. I couldn't sit still until I read the words: "AMSALE". WOOT she wore Amsale again! Like in Grey's Anatomy. Not sure if this one is Amsale, though.

Overall, the movie is typically chick-flick. It's a really entertaining one, since you don't have to read through a novel to find out the ending.

It wouldn't have held my attention, if not for the superbly gorgeous Katherine Heigl in absolutely stunning clothes. The witty lines, though some fall flat, are memorable at best. 6.9/10

Kevin: [in Jane's apartment, with her showing off her dresses as she pulls out a loud-looking Gone With The Wind dress] What is that?
Jane: [holding the dress up to herself] Theme wedding!
Kevin: What was the theme? Humiliation?

Gosh I can't seem to make this picture bigger!

Read the above to find out how Colbie was like. And tickets weren't neccesary! Gasp.

Long essay ahead.
----
The floors were panelled beautifully, as if crafted piece by piece at a steady pace. All the pieces are making up the floor which I am standing on-which mom says costed 40K and costs 70K or so now.

It feels cool and solid beneath my feet-and the opulent lighting is soft and calming. The walls are bare, but not so the floor. Boxes and bags fill a corner. Papers, letters, newletters and random documents occupy a dusty, yellow armchair, suggesting presence of humans before this.

My hands sift through all the junk, but they are not in the trunk (HAHA) and I find odds and ends-a pretty package with nothing inside, a pouchful of seemingly unused Crabtree and Evelyn products, letters from a bank, a folder from Gribbles Pathology, where I hope to work someday.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is narrow but not wide. The wooden floors are the same as downstairs. At my left are many cupboards, to my right plain baby blue walls. The table at the far end seems to sigh under the heavy weight it was carrying-books, books and more books. I see a telephone in a box, a half-read Legally Blonde and a few CDs strewn on the two tables.

There was a toilet in the room, right next to the wall of cupboards. It had a bathtub! Spell fun: B-A-T-H-T-U-B. Anyway, the wood-bordered mirror on the toilet wall had many little bottles lined up on it. Almost like soldiers, except in different uniforms. Minute memorabilias from hotels all over the world-Shangri-La, Pacific, Club Med.

As I exited the bathroom I found out that the cupboards and the toilet door were in a perfect position to be made a walk-in closet! How functional.

Can you buy me that house for my birthday?

apples

I'm sure you've heard of the new Amy Winehouse, Aimee Duffy, better known as Duffy. Her single (below) is a highly addictive 60s inspired song, very catchy and somewhat forgettable if not for her powerful vocals.

Be warned though that the sound quality is rather lousy.

The song we all know as Payung is so popular that bands have sung it during their concerts (Linkin Park, Sugababes) and unknown MySpace singers have achieved stardom by putting their own twist to the song (Marie Digby).

Now, a music video by the band Vanilla Sky (not the Tom Cruise movie-I've never really heard of them, have you?) performing Umbrella has surfaced.
You know the Zac Posen dresses Rihanna wore in the original music video? Check out what the singer wears in this video-a white slip.

By the way, do nudge me if TGV decides to screen 27 Dresses again. I think they put it on for like two days before pulling it off. I know, how can right?!

Oh, and Jodi Picoult is such a melodramatic, tragedy-infused writer. I'm halfway through Songs of the Humpback Whale and I find myself being sad after every read. I'm too devastated to go through the whole book, if not for the beautiful cover of an apple orchard and her wonderful descriptions of different types of apples. (No whales, haha)

But really, how can someone be filled with such creativity channel all of it to sadness and emotional losses? Okay, to each his own. Maybe I've been forced with too much chick-lits.

Dig

On K's blog were a few words on parting: about how hard it was to say goodbye, to say goodbye is like to have your heart broken into pieces again...and so soon.

And I thought it was hard to say goodbye, it must be harder for her to say. Like, two weeks of him and three months of none, and maybe, well, maybe none at all, but highly unlikely.

Oh no, there goes our free ticket to surprising K at work on random days.

But goodness, I will miss the girls (YX and Cher)so much, though I don't spend much time with them, I read their blogs too often to not miss them.

You guys aren't even gone for a whole day yet and we're already missing you. WAAAAHHH!!! *Bursts into tears* And I thought Iona going to NS was difficult! Now it's like the whole gang is gone to NS. At. The. Same. Time. Spell loneliness, will you?

But God bless all of you, all the same-may He protect you and guide you, bless your time at NS that you all will have fun. And come back loving your figures. Not hating them.

It's 2am. If my plan to go to school tomorrow should work out I should go to sleep now. Should.

a photo post of the day we got our results (SPM07)

First I bumped into Peter Petrelli. He was looking for Claire...

...here she is, looking like a tanned Paris Hilton. Who cares, she's hot anyway.

And Leny was wearing her very own pair of personalized jeans:

It's sort of dissapointing to skip the celebration/mourning session with my friends after we got the reults. (I had to attend a food handling safety course at PJ)

At the very least, Mimie suffered the same fate as I-we both did not have the time to spend with our friends, and some just came home from NS or will be going to NS soon. She and I complained in the same car-which was decorated like this: (Cute, I know)

At the venue, somewhere in PJ:

Most of us already had our blueprint for the course. It went something like ZZZZzzzz...while facing this diagram:

(The funny thing was, the officer in charge commented that "All germs are Malays" because the dead germ had a Malay tombstone-see the top picture, which I thought was so LOL)

She had a broken lipstick...and this was the fairly artistic result:

Once the course ended, our Chinese D.Manager was heard quoting "Alhamdullilah!"

As we exited the buidling, rain was still falling. Cue Umbrella.

The place is really close to Malaysian Institute of Bakery (MIB). In case you don't know, they were the ones giving out free cakes and breads during the education fair by The Star at KLCC in January.
Mimie and I went there and saw people behind glass walls baking and decorating-really pretty cakes and cupcakes that will make you go "OOooh!"

Bon Voyage

To those who are going to be leaving soon for the second batch of the programme which tears our dear friends away from us, have a safe journey and don't cry on the first night. Save the tears for the last night, alright?

This is the item for March 12 in the Everyday Blessings calender Yin Xian got me:

Knowing everything's going to be alright.
Relax, everything's going to be all right; rest, everything's
coming together; open your hearts, love is on the way!

Jude 1:2 MSG

to everyone's bestie.

Happy birthday to the girl who'll always be everyone's best friend.

You're turning 18. The big 1-8. You can get a car, a house, a husband and you can do stuff some of us cannot do. Yet. Like, uh, bungee jumping. Yeah. Bungee jumping.

You are like a gem. Hard to find, almost extinct, and I'm really thankful you're the person I can crap with.
Goodness, do I crap with a gem?

The bags and shoes mad girl. (I can tell you REALLY want that bag)

The girlfriend-two dimensional.

The wife-to-be aka DATIN of a datuk.

We heart you tonnes. Hugs, kisses and a lovely ice-cream infused cake.

On another note...
I don't care what anyone says now-I know I am blessed by God and I will not deny the fact that I am. It's been so long since I've had something to stir me, to wake me up and it took SPM results, friends leaving and returning from National Service and oil smears to do that.

I'm grateful for my results-though the conscience nags about that RIDICULOUS A2 in Arts. It's Arts, who frikin' gets a frikin' A2 in frikin' Arts? And the A2 for EST. It's EST, whhich English-speaking person gets a frikin' A2 in frikin' EST? Not anyone I know of. I get A1 in school exams for EST. So please tell me why the downgrading A2 in EST! (Not to brag but I heard it's hard to get A1 in EST but me EST essays are lightyears ahead of, oh, I don't know, the caterpillar! Go and ask my teacher, go ahead.) I'm still satisfied about the results, though.

Insomnia madness

Strangely enough, I cannot wait to experience the insomnia we all are schedueled to face on the night of March 11th.

I can't wait to hear the hearbeats of all of us, beating together in a rampant and unorchestra-ed phase-dub dub dub, dubdub, dub.......dub dub dub dubdub, awaiting what is yet to be known to us.

The screams, the tears and the swollen, panda-eyed girls-with new tears running down her face. Oh goodness, it's all but communal satisfaction as panic and mayhem take control.

Let's all go early.

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:21

(In case you do not know what I'm talking about, SPM results will be released on the 12th.)

sundae

My brain doesn't work optimumly at 1 am in the morning. Anyway. It's been a great week-or so I think. The mind is a powerful object, ready to deceive and make you preceive.

21 days of fasting and prayer starts on Monday. What are YOU going to fast off, and pray for?

As for me, it will be off uneccessary things which might manipulate my thoughts in a negative way.

That sounds like you.

I'll be fasting for a host of things-none of which I feel like disclosing to the world, unless the world would like to join in this fasting period for the said things.

If you're scared about your SPM results, whaddaheck do you have to be scared of? That slip of paper won't eat you up. Your parents might, though.

Just take it easy. What's the worst that can happen? What's done is done, you can't regret over the things that has happened. You just have to learn from your mistakes and carry on life more cautiously and more wisely. Don't whine about it lah. Blog it. Then we can press close without reading about it.

I bet lots of you will be blogging about your results, though. I foresee: "Don't ask me about my results," along with "I feel good!" and "My life is over!". But honestly lah, your life does not depend on SPM results. Affected, maybe, but depends on, NO.

In the meantime, watch this mind-boggling video from Jamiroquai titled Virtual Insanity. (Wiki the vid!)

The woman Folly is loud;
she is undisciplined and without knowledge.

She sits at the door of her house,
on a seat at the highest point of the city,

calling out to those who pass by,
who go straight on their way.

"Let all who are simple come in here!"
she says to those who lack judgment.

"Stolen water is sweet;
food eaten in secret is delicious!"

But little do they know that the dead are there,
that her guests are in the depths of the grave.

-Proverbs 9:13-18
