I heard this song from my workplace. Had to Google the lyrics to find out what it is. This isn't the version i hear, but it's not bad. It's The Rasmus' Sail Away.

wild child
Yesterday was as busy as today. Yesterday afternoon, my dad took me to the bank in Giant to get my 5th ATM card this year. No, I don't keep money in 5 different banks. It's my fifth ATM card from the same bank. I was too clumsy with the other four -_-
Work that day should start at 1-and it was already 12.30pm when we arrived. It's times like these you WISH hyperactive, over-caffeinated Starbucks teenagers work at banks-not that I hate the bank workers, it's just that I'M RUSHING FOR TIME MAN CAN YOU PICK IT UP HUH CAN YOU CAN YOU?!
Punched in at 13:38. Punched out at 17:39. Ran to the ATM machine, took out money, paid a bill at another bank across Aeon, went home.
Time is 17:58. Sarah is already at the train station. Oh noes! Change, grab some stuff, went out again. Ran ran ran and met Sarah. *phew*
Jian Quin so graciously extended an invitation to Sarah, who invited me to the premiere (or sneak preview) of Wild Child at Sunway Pyramid. JQ's brother also accompanied us. Thank you JQ~
Wild Child stars Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew). It's the brat-going past-the-line-getting-sent-off-to-England-at-a-boarding-school-making-troubles-finding-out-her-true-worth-and-snagging-a-guy-in-the-process-while-building-friendship-with-four-other-girls kinda movie, if you know what I mean.
The perfect movie for pre-teens to watch. If you're expecting a new kind of movie with an unexpected twist, don't. It follows the tried-and-tested Lizzie McGuire/Hannah Montana formula-everything done with attitude will end happily.
Personally, I feel the movie doesn't live up to the title: Wild Child. Where was the wild? In this day and age, I tell you, whatever Poppy (the main character) does has already been done by other girls her age in various other movies (think Freaky Friday, A Cinderella Story) and sometimes even wilder (think Juno).
However, the fashion in this movie is alright. Poppy is bedecked in luxurious attire-LV bag, skinny pink jeans, iPod, tanning lights (hahaha). The music is sometimes off, but nevertheless will connect with its target audience (teens, preteens) with the various hits from singers these days.
The one thing the producers should have focused on is how DATED this movie would look in five or ten year's time. It's like the 80s style-so dated, so not in these days.
Still, a fun movie to watch. Rating: 2/5

Malacca. Once sustained by trade, still sustaining by trade. And maybe tourism.
But then again, which city in this world isn't?
The so-called Asam Fish we had. Its gravy can be bought in powder form in packets at supermarkets-the miracles of "Just add water!".
Hey, everybody's got to make a living, no?

the brown and orange cat awoke from its deliciously wonderful and restful nap...
...and went back to sleep immediately. xD
Joe Jian is getting sent off to Perak for National Service. Through her blog I found out that she got the letter, so I ran all the way downstairs to the postbox to check if mine had come-and then, while staring into the empty, dark and cold metal post box, did I realise that the address on my IC is not the address where I live.
So, obviously, the Government would not be sending me the letter directly to me.
Instead, the address stated on my IC is one that is across the Klang river-yes, across the HORRIBLE Klang town jam- in Meru. Don't ask.
Needless to say I ran all the way to Meru that night, just for the letter that will tell me where I will be posted for three months.
NOH of course not! Gila gullible lah kalau you believe. xD
So, I'll just have to be content to a restless sleep tonight-along with my other baggages in my mind, which I will not share with anyone. It does not deserve. *SNAPS*
ANOTHER clearance sale
This time, it's happening at Taman Shamelin Perkasa, KL.
Why is it close to Dome HQ? Because it's by Dome's mother company, Melium Group.
And you KNOW they hold the rights to some of the best brands in the world to be sold here-Tods! Stuart Weitzman! (<3) D&G! Emilio Pucci! Hugo Boss! All available at KLCC, Gardens and Pavilion (yes, all the expensive places)-and this is the CLEARANCE SALE.
MO Outlet sells all these brands cheaper than retail price-so imagine the prices when they have their clearance sale. Up to 70% off!
For more info, visit http://www.mo-outlet.com/
(Weitzman images googled)
No, I will not be going for this one. It's not that good to obtain happiness from expensive material things. =) Go out and get some free sunshine!

Chitra
Chitra: ...take from my young body this primal injustice, an unattractive plainness. For a single day make me superbly beautiful, even as beautiful as was the sudden blooming of love in my heart. Give me but one brief day of perfect beauty, and I will answer for the days that follow.
Madana: Lady, I grant thy prayer.
Vasanta: Not for the short span of a day, but for one whole year the charm of spring blossoms shall nestle round thy limbs.
Chitra is basically a one-act play written by Rabindranath Tagore (who won a Nobel Prize in Literature) about a woman, Chitra, the only princess of a king who was brought up like a man because she is the heir of the throne. One day, she meets Arjuna and it was love at first sight. As seen in the excerpt above, she asks the gods to give her a woman's gentle beauty to capture Arjuna's heart. But will their love last if Chitra is hiding her true self behind a shield of a woman's body?
This play is very minimalistic in nature-no elaborate props needed, just nine oil lamps in a crescent shape (one snuffed out after each scene) on the stage and the actors and voiceovers.
On a whole, the play highlights the poetic aspects of literature and uses a wide range of elaborative vocabulary to translate its central theme (love) to the audience. Body movements and cultural Indian dance moves by the two actors were panned out rhythmically, symbolising the union of two people in love with one another-and also, the process of courting and falling in love.
As expected and said earlier, the dialogue is heavily embroidered-something a literature enthusiast would appreciate. However, it is not easy to grasp the meanings 100% as the words tend to fly out like firecrackers. Undoubtedly, the whole flurry of words about love and discovery paints out the act rather romantically.
Scene 6 is my favourite scene-the one where the restless Arjuna narrates his childhood adventures to Chitra, and this conversation then leads to their relationship. Chitra asks him why does he make so much effort in catching something that is not going to last-like the "tints of the clouds, the dance of the waves, the smell of the flowers" which basically meant their relationship.
Somehow, she knew that the romance that they had was not true love that could last forever-she knew that because she was hiding a part of who she is, it will not work out. But of course Arjuna doesn't know about her tomboyish side/past, and replies that Chitra should not dilute their love with the line mentioned in the previous paragraph.
In the end, somehow, even Arjuna realises that Chitra was approaching their love with a disguise-and thus, his love for her is not as complete as he thinks it is. The following line breaks my heart:
Arjuna: I never seem to know you aright. You seem to me like a goddess hidden within a golden image. I cannot touch you, I cannot pay you my dues in return for your priceless gifts. Thus my love is incomplete. Sometimes in the enigmatic depth of your sad look, in your playful words mocking at their own meaning, I gain glimpses of a being trying to rend asunder the languorous grace of her body, to emerge in a chaste fire of pain through a vaporous veil of smiles. Illusion is the first appearance of Truth. She advances toward her lover in disguise.
The ending? I can't spoil it here.

namaste
Gabby and Joyce: Namaste!
Yesterday night, Caleb, Joyce, Gabby, Sarah and I went to KLPAC to watch a play called Chitra. Joylynn from our church was acting in it-and it was a very interesting play, directed by KLPAC in-house director Helena Foo.
Review in the next post!
Oh, and something funny happened while on the way back to Klang from the Sentul KTM station-the train already arrived and the next train was due in half an hour, and we were still on the other side of the station!
So we ran and ran across the bridge till we reached the train, and Sarah told us to stop running because Caleb and Gabby were still behind! But we reached the train in time.
We sat in the carriage for 10 minutes-the train didn't even move! Gosh! We should've taken our own sweet time walking to the train lah.

The Happiest Fairytale Ever
(mum sent me this e-mail)
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, dancing, drank whole bottles of wine, chatted for hours on the phone to friends, always had a clean house, watched chick flicks without feeling guilty, never had to cook, did whatever the hell she wanted, never argued, didn't get fat, didn't have to pay for dual view tv, travelled more, had a career, had many lovers, didn't save money, and had all the hot water to herself. She went to the theatre, never watched sports, owned every remote control in the house, never wore friggin lacy lingerie that went up her arse, had high self esteem, never cried or yelled, and felt and looked fabulous all the time.

if today was your last day-nickelback
My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride
If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day
Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you'll never live it twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life
If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce of memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day
If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart? You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side
If today was your last day
and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

optimism keeps the sunshine irresistable
*ahem* Yours truly will be able to take FIVE subjects next semester! (instead of the usual four) Now to keep praying that I'll be able to keep up with the grade.
Thank you Jesus. \(^.^)/
(the following excerpt was inspired by Chia Yee's latest blog entry. See, Chia Yee, people DO read your blog. It's just that they're too shy to say hi. lol)
Monday
-Back to work. Four hours of standing.
-First attempt at the caterpillar-shaped pinata! Left the three paper mached balloons on the balcony.
-Later on in the night, the wind and the rain destroyed the balloons. O.O Three hours of hard work down the DRAIN just like THAT... T.T
-And I had to sweep the floor because the flour flew in...and I was moody cos I was hungry the whole day...and it all happened just as I was about to sleep. -_-
-Yes it was a bad day...but no matter! The next day was bound to be a beautiful day. Optimism keeps the sunshine irresistable, people!
Tuesday
-Back to work. Five hours of standing.
-Second attempt at the pinatas. This time my dad added starch to the paper mache glue solution, so that the newspaper won't disintegrate easily.
-Watched 90210. Such a typical teenage drama series.
Wednesday
-Back to work. Five hours of standing.
-Did nothing to the pinatas. I figured they need time to "stand".
-Updated this blog.
Thursday
-Back to work. Five hours of standing. And I STILL don't know the barista's real name. I kept calling him "Halim, Halim!" when he used the soda glass for the Espreski. Gosh. Shouldn't he point out it's not his name? (cue: That's Not My Name)
-Need to meet Amanda for Samantha's stuff.
Friday
-Back to work. Five hours of standing.
-To college in the evening for meeting with SNHU director.
-Gosh. I miss college people so much. And the IndoMee at Blackout Bistro. *drools*
-Cell that night? hrm. Bawanie's leaving for the other side of the sea.
Saturday
-Work is 3-7pm. The handling grieving workshop part two starts at 2pm...but i won't be able to make it. OH CRAP! THE PINATA! UNDECORATED! Shoot it's a good thing I'm blogging my future diary. Or esle it'd totally slip my mind and tomorrow will be sad.
Sunday
-It's my off day people! This is a miracle~it's extremely hard to get offs on weekends if you do FnB. All glory to God for answering my prayers. Even Teacher Penny was delighted to hear it.
-Church.
-GHM Family Day at 4pm. BRING THE PINATAS AISHA.
-Find a big long stick for the kids to whack the pinata...and FILL THE PINATAS WITH CANDY OH EM GEE I TOTALLY FORGOT! *notes down...buy candy*
Goodness. Imagine the kids whacking the thing happily, expecting sweets to fall down, and all they get is...
air.
Thank you Jesus. \(^.^)/

roach
The roach is dead! =D
(RIP little pest)
There was a big fat huge-moungous cockroach running his little butt around the piano a while ago.
Normally I would've left it be (cos I'm terrified of BUGS) but this is WAR! No one disturbs Aisha when she's blog surfing! >=(
Anyway, before I go on, just the other day I was reading Petrina's blog on how she killed the cockroach scampering around her house. Among the items she used was *drumroll* nail polish. TA-DAH! Bet you never thought about that.
Well, here in my home (LOL) we prefer to drown the roaches in really hot water instead of polluting the air with insecticide (that's scientific talk for Ridsect-which reminds me of the tepuk they used to have in PBSM-Tepuk Nyamuk: "Nyaaaaaa-MUK! *clap* *sings* Ridsect Goodnight tak diganggu nyamuk!")
but I guess really toxic stuff like nail polish would do fabulously well.
(image from http://www.pohwah.com)
[If the roach is near foodstuff ie the kitchen, on the dining table, you shouldn't use Ridsect or any other insecticide. It'll contaminate the food, but I bet you knew that ;) Your alternative is hot water. Or nail polish. Or super strong NaCl. Maybe HCl. Aiyah I don't know lah, Chemistry has left the building]

So girls (and the occasional guy), keep this tip in mind. Nail polish/varnish/remover solution can be a murder weapon to pests, not just that stiletto you own.
(Next time anyone decides to kill a roach with that let me know! I wanna know how it turns out.)

If friends are honest to each other...
...I'll hurt you everyday with my truthfulness because I love you.
Really, how can that questioned be answered in 15 seconds?
It's like Add Maths-differentiate emotions, factorise it with reality, divide it by honesty, find the square root of the future and round up the answer to the person who asked the questions' expectations of you.
If and when someone finds the answer, do share.
The one question i STILL cannot answer correctly is "How are you?"
When someone asks me that question, the following emoticon appears in my mind:
._.

The Heroes S3 premiere was also the launching event for the new Star World concept and logo. Cool =D Maybe I'll work there.
Did you read about Najib's financial package plan thing? He didn't allow questions from the Opposition MPs in the Parliament, so the Opposition MPs walked out. How mean is that.
It's like: DASHUNDERSCOREDASH -_-
Nickelback's coming out with a new album. Today only found out. Haha. I like them =)
It wasn't until Monday did I realise the November 4th US elections was a historical event, because if and when and totally-he-did Obama won, not only is history made, but it will also affect the rest of the world. I mean, it's US. The powerhouse. Why else is Britney Spears a household name?
November 4th. Hrm. Parent's anniversary. Eh! Iona's parent's anniversary is July 4th! Just 4 months apart.
November 5th. Ivan's birthday. Happy birthday coke addict! Oh that sounded wrong. Coca Cola. That's better.

Food for thought
Melaka Mee
People STILL don't get the give-credit thing.
If you use my pictures, you say at the end, "Credits to Aisha" and preferably, you put http://qwertilicious.blogspot.com/ at my name.
If you're too lazy to put the link, then at least just say "Pictures taken by Aisha" so that people who see the pictures will know who took it.
This is the first and the last time I'll say this here:
I work hard to take pictures that don't look like crap-and I expect to be given due credit.
Not putting thank-yous is like plagiarising, which why even the pictures I take off Google Images I put as a footnote "All pictures Googled" so that people know where they came from.
Yes I am pissed off.
But not for long. So you learn from here: Whatever you take from me you better make sure other people know it came from me.
How would you like it if I plagiarise your whole blog?
I'm not a b!tch. Just a creative one. ;)

trust today
Matthew 7:13,14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
In the storms of life, says Pastor Betty, you have three choices:
One, to praise God.
Two, to hang on to God.
Three, to lose faith.
Two, to hang on to God.
Three, to lose faith.
Countless times in this past few months have I been tempted to use the third choice-but I believe in the God that saved a sinner like me for a reason, and I believe that He has abounding grace-and I choose to believe that He will deliver me from this storm.
It is easy, superbly easy to just drop your faith just like *that* in the middle of a storm in your life-be it a small change, a big catastrophe or a problem that has grown over the years. The easiest thing, and undoubtedly the stupidest thing to do, I have learnt, is to let go of your faith in God in these trying times.
Silly thing, really, considering how a person can choose to lose his or her faith in the only one thing that can take them through the storms.

Self-sufficiency be damned! Who says you can make it on your own?
God wants to help you through these storms. He says: "Stop struggling. Celebrate Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him. Concentrate on Him. And you'll be out of this mess soon enough,"
Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
God wants to help you through these storms. He says: "Stop struggling. Celebrate Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him. Concentrate on Him. And you'll be out of this mess soon enough,"
Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
happy birthday to the guy lying on the floor, stealing the limelight from the singers
His mega watt smile flashes if he spots the slightest of a camera.
Wee Han!
