GIGO

GIGO stands for garbage in, garbage out.

It's a tech term, used to describe how useless information input will give you useless information output. Something along the lines of "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer".

(Of course, we can always apply this to ourselves. We are what we _______. Or, as B puts it, I _______, therefore I am.)

Perhaps, with Resurrection Sunday coming up soon, we can take some time to evaluate ourselves?

What have we been feeding ourselves on lately?
Has our "food" been nutritious to us, or killing us softly from the inside?
Is what we listen/read/watch/do everyday *beneficial*?
(Do I sound threatening now?) *poke poke*

Hmm, myself, there's loads of stuff I do hope to stop doing. I do hope to get rid of my citizenship of the nation of ProcrastiNation as well. Lousy country. I don't see any change coming along, nor any hope in it.

A change is gonna come

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
-2 Cor 5:17

Have a loopy weekend!

wishlist!

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give."
-Jn 14:27

(Before I start, I would like to say this wishlist is not to be followed. It is merely an inclination of my own materialistic nature at this point in time. That said, I would love prayers as birthday gifts. My own prayer is that all of you will come to know the God of all creation and universe and have a relationship with Him. He is the giver of all love, pleasures everlasting are in His right hand, and He gives everyone who asks of Him the peace that transcends all understanding, to live their lives on earth. He gave you life, He gave you Jesus, He also gives you free will to make your own choices.)

NLT

The book of 1 Samuel.

Now, that's a book to read! How did I finish reading it before I finished reading The Screwtape Letters? By reading one of the simplest translations of the Bible (personally, so far), the New Living Translation!

It's simple, everyday language that is easier to read and understand than NIV. Highly recommended for youths lah, I feel.

So what is 1 Samuel about? As you all know, Hannah was a barren woman, who seeked God at the temple. Here, she made the promise of her lifetime-that if she were to conceive, the first child would be dedicated to do the work of God.

That child was Samuel. (After Samuel, God gave Hannah many other children!) Now Samuel was the priest of the temple, sorta like the leader. But the people wanted a king! It was not for Israel to have a king-because they already had a leader. And having a king would be akin to changing the whole politics of the country. (God had in mind for a godly man to lead a nation) But what would Samuel do now?

at cilantro

The other day in February (doesn't that sound poetic? I like how February is spelt), Jian Quin invited me to take Gabby's place to go try out Cilantro Cooking Academy's fine dining program, which one of our friends was on supervisory shift.

Sadly, it did not live up to my expectations. So I will only blog about the good stuff there, and look forward to Taylor's fine dining in one of their "T" restaurants in the Lakeside campus. Ooh!

Photobucket

This was the appetizer. The purplish maroon thing in the foreground is pomengranate. Very nice to eat. The lump of meat in the middle is chicken (or was it duck?) in balsamic vinaigratte. Super sour, super yum with the meat!

Soup was tomato.

Photobucket

The main course. I like the...uh...uhm.. :x I didn't know US scallops had the consistency of mushy fishcake! :x

Photobucket

JQ's main. Hers was almost the same as mine, but she had a big prawn on top of lots of garlic-infused couscous. I liked this one better.

Photobucket

Part of my 3part dessert. So cute!

Photobucket

The tart-ish pie on the left is blueberry tart pie with chocolate base. So delicious, not too sweet, but too bad it's just a tiny slither of that :(

As much as I enjoyed eating there, I don't think I'll ever go back there again. Unless some things improve. To Taylor's Lakeside fine dining!

fatboy slim @ f1 party

Last year, Jamiroquai performed at F1 in Sepang. This year, Fatboy Slim will be there.

He is the DJ (who made?) right here, right now and that funk-soul-brother song (right about now, funk soul brother) and the remix of Cornershop's Brimful of Asha.

If you wanna see a 90s flash mob looks like, see Fatboy Slim's MV for praise you.

Just like last year, I cannot go watch it even if I could because of the FINALS. Yup, it always happens around this time. That means...if another strange musician is slated to perform next year who I really wanna watch, I still can't go for it. xD oh well. (i doubt the heat is bearable anyway)

gift

i have fabric burn on my right knee and a big old blister on my right finger!
i thank God for the opportunity to be involved in the dance ministry.
this must be what it feels like to be alive :)
