I told you about the GHM camp right? Here are some pictures.
The way to the beach. I can just picture white satin, flowers, wooden chairs and...stuff lah!

It was a great camp. I like the preaching a lot. Totally makes sense. Pastor Koon Hee said we should burn bridges.
Like, pour gasoline on the bridge, light a match, throw it in and watch it all burn.
How many of us actually have the courage and the wisdom to burn the things of our past which hinders us from the future that we can have?
Some of us would rather linger in the memories of our past because it's a whole lot better than our present and future. That's what we all do sometimes-and I especially enjoy looking back.
But Pastor said by looking at our past, we have our backs on our future. We will not be able to see nor anticipate what will come as we are so absorbed with our past.
That sucks doesn't it? Looking at the past and not wanting the better future, just because we thought we already have it all.
But there is more to come, so burn it!

As any human being with half a brain will tell you, PVC is hard to dispose of and totally toxic. So we have to cut down on our dependency on plastic bags and stuff.
Bring your own canvas tote to shop. Blook, Treats, Jusco and Converse give out their own canvas totes with purchase, and these bags are too cute to be left at home to rot, so put them to good use.
Next time you buy a pen or a candy bar, say no to the plastic bag and drop it with environmental conscious style-o into your tote.
What's ancient forest pulp? It's stuff that makes up some of your tissues, office papers and paper napkins made from 10,000 years old ecosystems like the Boreal Forest in Canada.
What can you do to avoid the lumbering of these historical trees?
Reduce, reuse and recycle. It doesn't get any more simple than that.
Use your school announcement papers to calculate maths problems. Print documents on both sides of a paper. Use both sides of toilet paper when you're in the toilet. lol.

(Also at Body Shop, they practice fair trade blah blah blah which supports poor communities. And that's a different matter.)
Besides that, Body Shop is also having this promo-reject a plastic/paper bag from them this month and they'll donate 50 cents to the Malaysian Nature Society.
(Return your empty Body Shop bottles to them and you'll get a 10% discount on the same item!)
You can also take your own coffee cups to your coffee shop to avoid packaging, BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) and shop and take a spare food container the next time you want to take away some food.
Meat wastes other sources of food. The Worldwatch Institute estimates that the total amount of food and grain fed to livestock in the US each year could feed everyone on the planet five times over.
Animal production also wastes massive amounts of land, energy and water.
Did you know that by eating steak, you actually contribute to the emission of gasses much more than driving a car? It's true!
I thought it was bullcrap at first until I thought of the amount of methane a cow farts in its lifetime till it gets chopped, marinated, oiled and cooked. Bad cows.
Say no to steaks!
Go green at least once a week.
Try out vegetarian restaurants.
Eat a fruit salad with honey and yoghurt for a change.
Take care of the Earth. Shoulder the responsibility and reduce your carbon emissions. Watch The Inconvinient Truth and get scared, because it's going to happen sooner or later.

I miss being at school.
I miss...
...the teachers who don't come into class, leaving us to do whatever we please.
...the guys at the back who'd be talking about Liverpool and watching Heroes re-runs on the phone.
...the girls who'd be cracking their heads open with Add Maths tuition homeworks written neatly in Delta notebooks.
...Yin Xian running around from one engagement to another and juggling her responsibilities as the class monitor.
...illegal Christian Fellowship meetings on Fridays and the loud hoots we'd make.
...the famed couple of the class whispering into one another's ears.
...the obscurity of the political arena while we were at school.
...being sleepy in class.
...traipsing in rainwater, sh!t and waste water to reach the class.
...discussing *ahem* about the socialites at school.
...blogging about school? But that is absolutely MUNDANE.
...PEKA and Add Maths folios.
...Come to think of it, I don't. Okay, I miss the people. I don't miss the stress and the assignments. Here's to a great year for those who are still in school! You don't have to:-

Klang people right-they are one of the most indescribeably inhumane species i've ever met in my whole life. Some are absolutely, you just cannot believe them because they are so nail bitingly annoying-and the other ones are the absolute angels you just want to be friends with. You don't know what I mean, and no thanks, I don't want you to know what I mean.
So. At cell the other night, we watched this documentary on lurve. Ever since this year started, the topic of love has been bombarding my life left, right and center.
Well.
Not really.
I mean, stuff have been hitting be left, right and center, but you don't need to know what.
It went:
The way we should enter a romance is by selfless love. Nowadays, you see people jumping into one relationship, getting bored and moving on.
Is that the way we should handle love? Is that the way we should be handling humans, as fragile (or as tough) as we think we are?
Selfless love is not selfish-it thinks for the other person in the relationship, it doesn't compromise for the good of the other half, and in everything, it puts the other one first.
~Love is patient, love is kind.
~It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
~It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
~Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
~It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
That, my friends, is how we should treat each other.
Imagine what our immediate world would be like if we PUT THE OTHER ONE FIRST.
If we stop being Generation Me and start being Generation For-The-Good-Of-The-Other-Party.
(Party as in, it can be a boy or a girl or both, and definitely your family as well)
Do I sound old, cranky and fifty? Are you that thick so as to define everything by the standards you set?

Last Saturday the phone rang. Miss Teh asked if I could kindly present my butt at a scholarship interview next Wednesday (WHAAAT my birthday lah you want to stress me). Of course I prayed for that day, what would something be without prayer?
I applied for this scholarship under The Star Education Fund. I still remember this guy, a business tai kor graduate from Michigan Uni telling me the standard for this scholarship is dam high, like sky-high, and one should only attempt to apply should one have numerous amounts of As in their SPM slip, like say, Su Ling (who eventually went on to get one at KDU).
So anyway I got interviewed by three people at HICT where I tried my best to gain my composure. The four walls were stiffening but the words made it seem not so. Three words: Articulation, composure and relativeness.
Did they offer the scholarship? Do you really want me to spoil the fun for you?
This is one of the best birthday presents from God, ever.
One of.
Next to salvation, and the easter party last year where they threw me into the pool despite my leg kicking and screaming, and all the other stuff, this is da bomb. I hope.
