I cannot tahan most songs on the radio nowadays. Except Hey Soul Sister and this Mizz Nina hit. (She's local, yo)




Must thank David Guetta for making techno available to english speakers, and not exclusive to ah bengs. But I can tell there's a difference between ah beng techno and Guetta techno. The change of keys are very creatively done-something like the fifths that you can hear in Single Ladies; unlike ah beng techno which is mostly in one key only. Very monotonous lah, ah beng music, I feel, so Guetta's stuff is a nice change from that, and the typical verse-verse-chorus-bridge-verse of RnB and rock these days.








While on the outing with the Sweet 16s, we watched the beyond my expectations Karate Kid. If you don't fall in love with Jaden Smith by the end of the movie, something is wrong somewhere. But that's not what I wanna talk about! No, it's the trailer we saw before the movie started: STEP. UP. 3. D. I've never seen any of the Step Ups before, but this one we agreed that we must watch!





Note to self: Must refrain from buying anything until Urbanscapes.

So, the song that I was describing? Annie Lennox's Dark Road.


I really like the song. Especially the unexpected bridge. The lyrics are somewhat sombre, but there was one part of it that appealed to me:

the gelato house in thailand

There was a small Gelato House my mum and I stumbled across while in Hatyai. The concept of a gelato bar in that neighbourhood seemed out of place, but the design of the shop was so quaint that if you passed by it, you MUST drop by.

Wood, presumably recycled, line the outside of the shop along with identical potted plants.

According to the chalkboard menu, a gelato smoothie is RM 7, all drinks are less than RM 5 each, and additional whipped cream is RM 1. Where got so cheap here, you tell me?

The gelato is all handmade by the owner. There was cheesecake flavor and all sorts of flavor which I've forgotten by now. We had a tiramisu flavored one. The coffee liquer is so thick in that one. Yum.

There's an assignment due on Thursday, just a presentation on social media networks and its effects on marketing. I chose Twitter. Twit. Twit. So much to write/talk about! I enjoy these kinda assignments more than elaborate, 5-type references assignments because I get to ad lib a lot. And hey, public speaking! Oh...emcee duty this Sunday. And a meeting on Saturday! And the Friday we've got an outing to plan.

Retailing assignment, multinational, oh and a business law quiz this Thursday too. We're stuck at contracts for the past few weeks, and entered Tarts/Torts last week. Mmm fruit tarts. Apple pie ala mode.

College stuff: CF meeting this Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing more people this time round. Fete de la Musique on June 20. ISCF Rally.

You can say what you mean
But it won’t change a thing

I really hate debate*. The term. The connotations with the term. The definition. The culture of debating. It's so territory-bound.

And the people, oh, the people get SO defensive once you voice out your opinions. Okay, Mr. Defensive, I'm just telling my side of the story. And when you want to attack their baseless facts.


Sometimes I choose to sit down quietly when a matter is passed over a table, for the group to taste it, analyse it and regurgitate what they know about it. And I listen to what they say about it. Some are textbook facts, others are pop-culture driven, "i'm saying this cos my idol says it" kinda thing. None choose to speak the truth.

It's a scary fact that they don't know. It's a scarier fact that they DON'T WANT to know. The cause of their misery, the cause of their false happiness.





*debate here refers to the non-commital act of voicing out one's opinion which is against that of another party, not necessarily in a regulated environment.

And saw some cheap and colorful, squishy and glittery stickers, so I bought 'em!

This scripture speaks to life very well. You try to hold on to your life and what you make of it, and you're sure to lose it when you're gone. Dust to dust, right?


But get this! You give over your life to Jesus, and you will find it! Yes, it does sound a bit off, but that's what you get, man. It took God opening my heart to make me understand what this line means: "...whoever loses his life for me (Jesus) will find it."


What this line means is literally giving up your desires, your passion, your love and your all to Jesus. Seriously? Yeah, seriously. Give it up to Him, and He will show you what life is all about. I've seen this happen in somebody some time ago. That fella's life truly changed all because he gave his everything to Jesus, and He showed him how to truly live.

Dear Lord Jesus, I surrender everything I have to You. Please take my life and teach me how to truly live. Teach me to live fully and wholeheartedly, so that I may gain purpose and meaning in my life. And help me to show others the way to a full life too. In Your precious name I pray, amen!

Today, I hitched a ride from Rachel. Her CD player was playing a soundtrack of House, M.D. There was a song in it I really liked, but I don't know what it is. It sounds like a man, but sounds like a woman with a deep voice. There were high notes and low notes, and a very special bridge with a chorus of sounds with at least a string quartet. The genre could have been alternative/indie. It could have been used on a very emo episode of House. Does anybody know what song I'm talking about?
