12:50

It is 12:40, I don't normally stay up this late. First finals paper of the semester is this Saturday morning! Must be my first paper on a weekend, haha. Business Law. Can't wait for it to be over. Then three more papers next week, and I'm free! Free to do whatever I like! Free to call my semester break a summer break even though I'm not in the US (but am still studying under its syllabus)! Free to memorise Psalm 91! Free to roll around on the floor with TMX Elmo! Free to watch another round of Inception! Free to read the history of the kings of Israel in 1 and 2 Kings! Free to do the jive! Free to go to Ipoh to check out Hillsongs United on the 11th (places still open to youth, contact me pls)! Free to make the infinity dress (thanks Melissa)! Free to meet up with Khadijah!

...come to think of it, I would be a bit silly to think I'm not free NOW to do all those things. Whose rule am I living under, if I'm not allowed to hope, wish, dream and live when exams loom? Where did my freedom go to? HAH!

All things are good. All things were created for a purpose to fulfil. But sometimes, some people do some things to some things that make the things seem bad, unright, and downright wrong. My advice is to check all things against the word of God. It's perfect, flawless-the one guide everyone should turn to. It's the most translated and best selling book of all time.
It changed my life. Don't take my word for it-check it out yourself!

sundays with sam

"If a man opens the car door for his wife, it can only mean two things: the car is new, or the wife is new,"-Pastor H.

This weekend was a very packed weekend. I am thankful for this weekend and for Tony and Aureole Piper's seminar, which revealed to me the truth that the enemy does not want any of us to hear-that God loves us more than we can imagine, more than any person on earth can ever. He forgives, He truly does. He cleanses and He renews, only if we allow Him to. He wants to give us the whole world and more!
PTL for JC!

Ah, plenty of things to do this week. Revision for MKT X 2, BUS and Msian Studies finals. Sam wants to go ice skating. And I wanna watch Inception again. Meeting with Seenamon partners to finalise i love bazaar weekend (inventory, etc). (August 7th, Saturday, Subang Parade) Final CF meeting of the semester. And, this Saturday,

ISCF RALLY!!! (i wait for this all year long)

They've got one of my favorite speakers speaking this year!

"You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You can't be sure where it will take you. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together."

I don't like that line. It's so misleading in some ways. And very E.S.O.T.S.M.*. But Inception is one of my favorite movies this year. Marion and Leonardo would have pretty pretty children. J.G-L woohoo!

Gila. Christopher Nolan's IMDB page up 1,300% in popularity this week =_=

night fall

city lights

Amanda's 20th Birthday
Lookout Point, Ampang (Haven Restaurant)
Amanda, Sam, Iona, Syafiq, Lucas, Wee Han, Rachel, Janelle, me

Lookout Point at Ampang is such a beautiful place! It's on the way to Genting. Going up the hill, you can almost see Genting itself, perched on another hill across town!

At Haven restaurant (Gasoline was super crowded), the view was STUNNING. It was like watching a 3D HDTV that showed the city lights of KL! Simply superb. The first time I saw it, I didn't want to take my eyes off it.

Lighting was low, there was no tripod. City night light pictures will have to wait. In the meantime...

Janelle in front of Popeye's (KP) recreating Sam @ KLPac. Hehehe.

Happy 20th, Amanda!
The dark blue and white polka dotted dress that the birthday girl wore can be found at Blu and Blak.

the power of words

God didn't send me out to collect a following for myself, but to preach the Message of what he has done, collecting a following for him. And he didn't send me to do it with a lot of fancy rhetoric of my own, lest the powerful action at the center—Christ on the Cross—be trivialized into mere words.

freedom thoughts

"I support Germany!"
"Nope, I think Spain will win."
"Who are you supporting?"
"The winning team."

LOL little sister

Because we always sing this song, I always take the lyrics at face value. Meaning, I don't try to understand what the words mean, and I just say it for the sake of singing it. But when I saw this verse at someone's blog, I was MIND-BLOWN.

You know, when you take the music away, take the people away and all that.

And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me

I'm gonna be visiting the Parliament next Wednesday for Malaysian Studies. My lecturer is a really dedicated man. REALLY. Really.

*

There is an event on FB that I got invited to. It's called "Exalting Jesus". On that day, everyone who 'attends' will put their status updates simply saying "Jesus Christ!". Marvellous idea, but I didn't respond because hey, you don't only exalt Jesus on Easter, Christmas and Exalting Jesus day. You do it EVERYDAY! Likewise you don't 'become' a Christian around your Christian friends on Sundays. You got to do it everyday. That's what a living relationship with God is. Man, that's the life.

*

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Jn 8:32-37

True freedom is not being bound by regulations, conditions, and man-made precepts. PTL for true freedom :)

cartwheel thoughts

1. I am superliking this room here

2. Vivian is right-a DSLR will NOT give you photography skills. So, stop wasting your money on it unless you already have skillz and/or are passionate in pursuing photography. (But if you have the money, heh heh, go ahead and support the economy)

3. Long time ago, King David wrote in one of the Psalms.

O Lord, come back to us!
How long will you delay?
Take pity on your servants!
Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
So we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.

Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace all the evil years with good.

Let us, your servants, see you work again;

let our children see your glory.

4.
"You guys are crazy!" -V, at her first GHM
(That's what I thought)

5. My butts are hurting. I've been walking like a penguin. All because of the almost-cartwheels yesterday. Wonder if the others are aching too.

cheers

Cheers Pub and Lounge, Bandar Baru Klang (a few doors down from Italian restaurant Casa di Napoli). The kitchen is owned by my aunt and uncle who have shifted from the original Cheers Pub in Berkeley.

Oh nyum. Pub grub! Fried chicken with papadom. No one does it quite like my aunt.

We polished off the Hokkien mee before I could take a picture. This one is cooked and garnished with Bentong ginger, cooked with Chinese red wine. Delicious!

Meehoon in ginger, chilli and garlic infused fish head broth. It is as wonderful as it sounds. Perfect on a rainy day.

One side of the wall has a pretty cream based rose wallpaper. Some hairography action:

“Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.”

more thoughts

Whenever I hear of people saying "We're on our own in this world," I feel like shaking their shoulders and telling them "No, we're not! Look up!" and look at the vastness of the blue sky, or the rolling thunder, or the beautiful starry night-and sharing with them how there IS a God of love looking at us. If you want, come and poke me in real life and I'll tell you more.

What I do in life, it's not blind optimism. If there's one thing I'm not, I'm never optimistical to the point of being indifferent to suffering, and I'm sure everyone also has that measure of optimism.

Jue Lyn's latest post is heart warming! I laughed at some parts. Hahaha.
