city lights
Amanda's 20th Birthday
Lookout Point, Ampang (Haven Restaurant)
Amanda, Sam, Iona, Syafiq, Lucas, Wee Han, Rachel, Janelle, me
Lookout Point at Ampang is such a beautiful place! It's on the way to Genting. Going up the hill, you can almost see Genting itself, perched on another hill across town!
At Haven restaurant (Gasoline was super crowded), the view was STUNNING. It was like watching a 3D HDTV that showed the city lights of KL! Simply superb. The first time I saw it, I didn't want to take my eyes off it.
Lighting was low, there was no tripod. City night light pictures will have to wait. In the meantime...
Janelle in front of Popeye's (KP) recreating Sam @ KLPac. Hehehe.
Happy 20th, Amanda!
The dark blue and white polka dotted dress that the birthday girl wore can be found at Blu and Blak.

"If you can be anybody's child, be God's child." -Jeremy
The language of love has been degraded and misspoken; it's not a short burst of emotions.

the power of words
God didn't send me out to collect a following for myself, but to preach the Message of what he has done, collecting a following for him. And he didn't send me to do it with a lot of fancy rhetoric of my own, lest the powerful action at the center—Christ on the Cross—be trivialized into mere words.

freedom thoughts
"I support Germany!"
"Nope, I think Spain will win."
"Who are you supporting?"
"The winning team."
LOL little sister

Because we always sing this song, I always take the lyrics at face value. Meaning, I don't try to understand what the words mean, and I just say it for the sake of singing it. But when I saw this verse at someone's blog, I was MIND-BLOWN.
You know, when you take the music away, take the people away and all that.
And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me

I'm gonna be visiting the Parliament next Wednesday for Malaysian Studies. My lecturer is a really dedicated man. REALLY. Really.

There is an event on FB that I got invited to. It's called "Exalting Jesus". On that day, everyone who 'attends' will put their status updates simply saying "Jesus Christ!". Marvellous idea, but I didn't respond because hey, you don't only exalt Jesus on Easter, Christmas and Exalting Jesus day. You do it EVERYDAY! Likewise you don't 'become' a Christian around your Christian friends on Sundays. You got to do it everyday. That's what a living relationship with God is. Man, that's the life.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Jn 8:32-37
True freedom is not being bound by regulations, conditions, and man-made precepts. PTL for true freedom :)

cartwheel thoughts
1. I am superliking this room here
2. Vivian is right-a DSLR will NOT give you photography skills. So, stop wasting your money on it unless you already have skillz and/or are passionate in pursuing photography. (But if you have the money, heh heh, go ahead and support the economy)
3. Long time ago, King David wrote in one of the Psalms.
4.
5. My butts are hurting. I've been walking like a penguin. All because of the almost-cartwheels yesterday. Wonder if the others are aching too.

O Lord, come back to us!
How long will you delay?
Take pity on your servants!
Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
So we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace all the evil years with good.
Let us, your servants, see you work again;
let our children see your glory.
4.
"You guys are crazy!" -V, at her first GHM(That's what I thought)

Cheers Pub and Lounge, Bandar Baru Klang (a few doors down from Italian restaurant Casa di Napoli). The kitchen is owned by my aunt and uncle who have shifted from the original Cheers Pub in Berkeley.

Oh nyum. Pub grub! Fried chicken with papadom. No one does it quite like my aunt.

We polished off the Hokkien mee before I could take a picture. This one is cooked and garnished with Bentong ginger, cooked with Chinese red wine. Delicious!

Meehoon in ginger, chilli and garlic infused fish head broth. It is as wonderful as it sounds. Perfect on a rainy day.

One side of the wall has a pretty cream based rose wallpaper. Some hairography action:

more thoughts
Whenever I hear of people saying "We're on our own in this world," I feel like shaking their shoulders and telling them "No, we're not! Look up!" and look at the vastness of the blue sky, or the rolling thunder, or the beautiful starry night-and sharing with them how there IS a God of love looking at us. If you want, come and poke me in real life and I'll tell you more.
What I do in life, it's not blind optimism. If there's one thing I'm not, I'm never optimistical to the point of being indifferent to suffering, and I'm sure everyone also has that measure of optimism.
Jue Lyn's latest post is heart warming! I laughed at some parts. Hahaha.
