tonight, we dine in hello!

It's my 300th post.

So there's an assignment, right, about smoking, and I decided, for the fun of it, to Google one sentence of her essay to see if it's plagiarised or not.

Oh my goodness, it was.

Methinks it's time to stop doing group work. i'm always the one doing every single thing, down to bossying them to sign the cover sheet, and the bibliography. Grr. Even had to edit their parts, which seem totally un-editable. Maklumlah, kerja copy dan paste pe...But please, don't pity me. Pity the people who copied and pasted.

On the bright side, that assignment is off my back!

Went to Jon's birthday party yesterday evening. It was fun, and segregation was so present, it was like water and oil. Like, these are from church, those are from school. And those are from 5S1, and these are from the other classes.

It was great to see the people from school again. Even funnier were people shouting "Oi, somebody cry lah!" after several heart-tugging performances.

Happy birthday Jon!

Recently I read a book of my sisters', titled Loving Danny by Hilary Freeman. Sounds like Million Dollar Baby right? (Hilary) Swank and Morgan (Freeman), see? No? Sigh.

I know what you're thinking: pre-teen chick lit.

That, my dear friend, is so true.

Loving Danny is about Naomi, a nineteen year old on her gap year (before going to Uni, after A-Levels) meeting the lead singer of a band (called the Wonderfulls) and their romance grows throughout the whole book.

If you must know, Freeman writes for CosmoGirl! and is married to a rockstar. So you know where she gets her inspiration from.

This novella is set in London, where the English always have dry humor and strange weathers. Not that I'm complaining, the garden-date part was interesting to read. Yes, it ends with rain. How typical.

But not all is as cherry as it seems, because...Danny has a penchant of cutting himself. (Yeah I rolled my eyes too) The storyline is somewhat predictable, but I gave Naomi a little cheer at the end when she made up her mind on what to do with Danny. She smiles 'cos she deserves to.

There's nothing much in this book that is likeable, but it does shine at Yellow bar, where Naomi and Danny get to know one another more. Another plus is the thing that Freeman tries to work with the newer stuff of the people of this age-i.e., making Danny's band a profile on MySpace (which is not mentioned in the book, only through the web URL in the book-www.thewonderfulls.co.uk.)
