I've been thinking bout everyone, everyone you look so empty

Concerts are loud, brash and somewhat meaningless. Loads of headbanging teens who don't know the true meaning of some songs...I still prefer camps/rallies.

Teens were in abundance at the venue, their hormones in tow.
Some were displaying their affection towards each other publicly...tsk tsk, yes it's your life, but your dignity is also at stake yo!

I saw lots of people too-including ex church members. Imagine that, bumping into each other at a rock concert. Tonnes of Meta Camp '07 campers...even the speaker at Meta Camp! Pastor Andy Yeoh. Ai yah, he was the singer in Altered Frequency lah, of course he was there. (Altered Frequency was another opening act)

Did you think about this?
Altered Frequency's lead singer > Pastor Andy > Speaker at Meta Camp 2007 > Soundtrack to Meta Aftershock video > We Are One Tonight by Switchfoot > opening act for Switchfoot concert 2008 > Altered Frequency

Meta Aftershock (starts after 5 minutes)

The Switchfoot concert was not a Christian event. If it were, Love Me Butch (opening act) would be singing gospel.
Speaking of Love Me Butch. They were really loud. Not interesting to me.

Best moment at the concert=none. Okay, maybe when Switchfoot sung Stars.

Under that glowing blue laser light, everything in the world seemed loud and clear, pretty and unattended. Made me feel warm inside. =D
And when they rip offed Beyonce's Crazy In Love.

And definitely when they started the whole show with Oh! Gravity. Very unkept together.

I also loved it when Jonathan (Foreman, lead singer) gave a short speech on the things and materials in his life, and how it does not mean a thing.
It was such a carbon copy of Luke 12:15-Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.".

After he gave that speech, they belted out Meant to Live. *cue guitar riff* Because of that I feel the concert was good.

The crowd went BHB at Meant To Live. During the bridge of that song, everything went quiet for a few beats.

Then the crowd started to sing the bridge together and sang the chorus again just like the original song does.
And I thought it was quite hard for the band to jump in and take the lead again, but they did, so kudos to them.

Sorry peeps, I don't like the crowd. I felt out of place-eventhough it was the exact setting should a praise and worship session take place right there and then. I guess it's because it wasn't. It just wasn't something which I could take with. It was just...that.
Nothing more and nothing less than whatever it was meant to be.

But at a praise and worship session, anything can happen.

You can encounter God, you can laugh, cry, shout, jump, scream and sing, clap and dance, and still feel so good at the end, because you know you did all that for someone who knows your name, who loves you for who you are, who cares and protects you for all the days of your life.

But when you do all that at a concert...*sigh*.
Yes, I did clap and shout. But that was it.
Switchfoot wasn't going to do anything for me, and me for them.
Plus, people were smoking pot outside the venue openly.

Good night people, and remember, be wise.

PS: Thank you to my sister for allowing me to tag along! Apple strudels and fluffy bunnies!
