So many things happened in the days culminating to the Monsoon Cup, nevermind the event days itself. It really is a blessing to be able to work at this prestigious (although slightly unknown) event. If I were to blog about it, ah, it will take days. So I might be posting up bits and pieces that happened along the way.
Since my station was in the exhibition hall, I got to see lots of the events happening there. Like the 1Malaysia 1Culture dance thingy. The dances, I tell you, chunted gila. The different dancing groups went all out to produce the most "1Malaysia" dance. A bit cliched lah when you see the Malay dance, then the Chinese fan dance followed by the Indian "pot tembaga" dance.

But dance enthusiasts, like the cultural group from secondary schools, can learn a lot if they watch. They even had the choreographer from Citrawarna to judge.
So the winners were this group who had a stunning but epileptic inducing performance (due to their haphazardly dyed costumes) - Dewan Bandaraya Ipoh. They had a very commercial and entertaining dance, from the snippets that I manage to see.
Oh. And one group's song montage had me laughing. The lyrics of the song goes:
"Mari kita ke ladang
HOI!"
It sounded like some government propaganda, trying to get people to farm more (cos the government also released some tacky songs like "Guna IT" to encourage the use of Info Tech. Remember that? Hahaha) back in the days. Then I googled it and found out it was from a P. Ramlee movie called Musang Berjanggut. Roughly translated, it's the Bearded Fox.
Fantastic Mr. Fox!
