a cup of insani-tea

Hello.

Today, I will introduce you to college life as my camphone sees it.

Be aware public displays of affection (PDA) at HICT. Like...

Here, you have to keep an eye on your shoes. Iona learnt the lesson the hard way when her Vincci high heels were snatched by two different people. These people proceeded to run around the conference hall in opposite directions, distracting the poor, barefooted girl, much to the amusement of spectators.

Also, watch out for this human called Wee Han. He has a tendency to pull your hair and cause your face to turn into a grimace, like Ivan here.

A key rule when studying is to avoid a combination of Janelle and Iona.

They will cause you to laugh till your stomach aches. For no reason.

Also, do not skip around the college grounds with a partner holding Wee Han's pen in your hands, as the pen WILL break into two.
It doesn't matter if you and your partner are wearing shirts of the same color.

When in college, you will stumble upon the occasional Thai tourist guide.
"Sawadeekaaaa!" he seems to say. "Follow me!"

"Thailand is a beautiful land. Here, we have exports such as Ms. Thailand 2008/2009..."

"Little children who look like this will try to get you to buy some souveniers from them,"

"If you don't want to buy from them, watch out, because they will do THIS,"

*pouty lips, big eyes*

"Oh yeah. When going through the streets at night, be aware of suspicious characters such as..."

Oh. I still haven't post about this yet.

My blog is mentioned as an answer on Yahoo!Answers !

Oh wow. =D

Mamma Mia (!)

Can you imagine James Bond and the editor from The Devil Wears Prada dueting in a love song?

Well, imagine no more! The powers that be has heard your requests and are granting it in the form of a musical inspired by hit songs from Abba, Mamma Mia!

(LOVE the dress! xD)

Okay, the deal is, this chick from Mean Girls (Amanda Seyfried) is getting married to the Sky. Some trivia: Rachel McAdams (from Mean Girls too! and the up-and-coming House Bunny), Emmy Rossum, Amanda Bynes and Mandy Moore were all considered for the plum role of Sophie.

Anyhoo, Sophie wants to know who her dad is before her wedding, because her mother Donna was flinging with three men at one time at one summer. So she invites them and mayhem follows, naturally.

Cue Bollywood song-and-dance routine on a small island off Greece.

Pierce Brosnan cannot sing! He's not tone deaf, but he sounds so nasally strange that it was like listening to music through a pipe. Meryl Streep, on the other hand, was like a musical
firecracker throughout the movie. Speaking of which, it seems like the characters would break into song every three minutes or so.

One thing though-when you watch this movie, most of the audience will be over 30. A few teenagers, but that's it, really. Although I didn't grow up in the 80s, I could recognize some of the songs they sang in this movie-Dancing Queen, Winner Takes It All, I Have a Dream and of course, Mamma Mia.

Hrmmm. When I was younger, I thought the Spice Girls sang Mamma Mia. xD

I love love love the place that they filmed it. I have a strange feeling it's Santorini. Obviously on one of the Greek islands. Anyway, the scenery is marvellous, and the colors are so sunshiney bright and happy you won't fall asleep in the duration of this movie! Sounds like Wee Han on sugar.

Storyline-wise, it's the tried and tested formula with a happy ending. I still find the gay Colin Firth hard to understand, though-it's like every movie in 2008 has to have a gay character.

I can't seem to find anything to gripe about the movie-except the little boy next to me in the theater who released gas every 10 minutes, and his mum who contributed to the smell of greasy food in the theater. Oh, and that parasitic waste who obviously cannot understand English kicking at the back of my seat, evidently wanting to get his groove on.

This musical/movie gets a 4.5/5 from me.

Oh, and guess what? KL will be playing host to the real deal in December! The musical from West End will be here till the new year. Read The Star newspaper for more info. Yes, I am plotting to get free tickets, God willing.

The problem

Salvation Is Here - Hillsong United Live

The problem with Hollywood is that it makes you think that you are self-sufficient, when the reality isn't so.

The world tells you that to survive in this hard-knock life, you have to be independent. You cannot lean on anyone, because it exposes your vulnerability.

PAH!

That is trash. As humans, we are weak, we sin, we cannot stand on our own, and we ALWAYS WANT SOMEONE bigger than us to guide us, to love us, and to be there whenever we call out for help.

As beings with brains, we have the choice to decide to who that SOMEONE is.

You want that SOMEONE to be...

...music?
It won't last. What if you turn deaf?

...a guy or a girl?
Can someone who can be weaker than you lead you and be there for you? Trust me, it'll be like the blind leading the blind.

...your parents?
Well, what if you're overseas, and your parents aren't there to walk every step with you? Hrm...

...the world?
The world is big. It's bad. If you don't have the right wisdom, you'll fall.

...arts?
It's not going to last, either. You want something that you can count on 100%.

...your friends?
Let me ask you this: have you been let down by a close friend before? See what I mean.

There is only one SOMEONE who can fill in that place of a strong tower in your time of need.
You can count on Him to be there for you.
You can rest assured He wants the best for you, and will make you better and stronger to face life's challenges.
You can sleep well, knowing that He will love you with everlasting love, no matter how bad you've sinned.

All you have to do is ASK.

John: 11:25,26
Jesus said to her,
"I am the ressurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even
though he dies; and whoever lives and
believes in me will never die.
Do you believe this?"

PS: By all means, go ahead and enjoy arts, friends, family, life, music.
But bear in mind that everything is secondary compared to knowing and having a relationship with your Creator.

psalm 147:3-he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds

Oh wow! Haven't updated since Saturday!
NOW you can give me earrings as birthday presents. Finally got my ears re-pierced after class yesterday. Held on to mummy tightly when the process was over. PAIN OKAY?! Sigh. The painful things silly girls go through for the fun of it.

Yes, it was offensive when people use to give me earrings as birthday gifts. *hurt* I'm feeling a bit picky, so I only want silver hoop earrings. For now. Nevermind the fact that my birthday's in April.

Watched Mamma Mia with my mama last Sunday! For FREE! XD Review coming soon. It was filmed in GREECE! Yeah, of course I recognised the songs.

Thank God the role play went smoothly! I <3 my group members.

-Be happy! Be hyper! Be joyous! Eat sugar!-

did he not?

i am sorry
...that i lie to the people around me when they ask "how are you?"

...to the people to whom i have been putting up a face for.

...for not having real passion.

...that my perception of God as an angry, impatient, short fused father is a wrong one.

...that i can tell no one how i really feel, i cannot fully be truthful to some people as i would like to be, and i am sorry for knowing that you guys cannot handle it.
...for blogging about it.

...that i am not committed.

...for not being dedicated enough.

...for not having the right answer.

...for being blunt, short fused, indecisive.

...for shouting.

...for being emotional. No, scrap that, i have the right to be emotional. EAT MY SHORTS.

*

Second thoughts are useless and futile when I know the real answer.

The race seems too long and too tough to be true. Maybe, I thought, I'm not living life like how He would like me to be. Maybe I'm be better off living as a nobody. Maybe it'd be better if I just gave up completely.

Sometimes I have a vague wanting to let go of it all. Then I stop myself by looking at those who have already gave up halfway, and those who have just started the race. And I ask myself, how can I?

So what if the passion is not real? Paul did say "As long as the Gospel is preached,", did he not?
