The sun shines marvellously upon us that morning. Everything was perfect.

Both of us sigh outwardly as we watch her fumble around the garden.

"Oh, there she goes again," he says to me. "Wandering too close to the edge of the pond. Do you think she realizes she is THAT close?"

I nod my head. "Obviously she knows. She can sense the water-but I'm more worried about her feet. Have you noticed she isn't wearing any shoes today?" I reply, crossing my arms.

He takes a while to look for her feet buried underneath the grassy area. "Great. The thorns might take a while to sting her, though. And I'm sure this garden has a snake somewhere in here." He inches closer to the girl, now edging away from the pond.

I could feel the blood at the back of my neck running cold. "Are you sure there's a snake here? What should we do?"

He glances up to the sky, looks at the blindfolded girl, watch her trip over a few pebbles and finally says to me, "We should just leave her alone." He must have sensed the change of expression to shock on my face because he quickly added, "She put the blindfold on herself! Don't you think she should take responsibilities for her own actions?"

And there I stood, under the sun, thinking about her. Did she not bring it on to herself? Yes. Will she learn from her mistakes? Probably. Does this hurt? Yes. Her mother I am not, her father he is not.

My friends are planning to ask Big Apple for some donuts to sell at college this fourth of July. And they were hit with this SHOCKING news!

Yes, even more SHOCKING-ER than the petrol price increase!

Big Apple Donuts will be increasing their prices by RM 4 for all sizes of boxes of donuts this Thursday.

Which is a total -_-" since they were planning to purchase the donuts on Friday. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Did you know that Santana's collab of Why Don't You and I is sung by Alex Band of The Calling, and not Chad Kroeger? Gosh. I thought Wiki said it was Chad.

And check out Boyce Avenue's No Air. It sounds so much more better than the original screamo-ish Jordin and Chris collaboration.

Don't expose your underwear intentionally with low jeans. we'll make fun of you.

Check it out! Jian Quin the hardworking queen FINALLY celebrated her birthday yesterday night at cell.

The fruit cake was delectable! Light and tasty, crumbly and soft. Nyum.

We love you Queenie!

We also played "Bunny-Carrot" game. Whoever made a mistake had to eat Su Ling's mom's chocolate chapatis. Which were...well, I'll leave you to decide when you try them out yourself. When Su Ling made a mistake, Zlwin shouted:

"HAHA! Eat your mother's chapati!!" rather humorously.

Also, us at college have been practicing hard for next Friday's event.

(The one in pink at the front is my cousin's cousin, Rachel. I know, how weird is that? We're in the same batch, with another cousin of mine and another one of hers, who is also one of ours. Geddit?)

I met Marcus at Aeon today, after watching Made of Honor. Alone! =D I watched it alone at the supposedly "haunted" hall 4 with no one to my right or left.

This was what we saw when we walked around: (The guy on the right's jeans)

You can just hear Flo Rida's Low in the background:

"Shawty got low low low low low low low low,"

Or maybe Lil' Mama's Shawty Get Loose.
Only now, it's My Jeans Are Loose.

We (well, Marcus) stalked the guy after he went into the toilet. We waited outside, waiting for his low low low jeans and exposed underwear to appear.

To the guy whose underwear shows:
Hey man, if you're reading this, don't get mad. You're supposed to be proud that you attracted unwanted attention to your butt! That was what you wanted, right? I mean, why else would you go around without a belt around your waist? An undercover flasher, maybe?

Anyway, hope to see you (and your exposed underwear) around. We'll be keeping an eye on you.

AND AND AND I know you don't care, but I finally got my birthday presents from Samantha. Going to have some fun time with them!

Thank you so much sweetie!

Out of sight, out of mind

1. Immaturity

2. Indecisiveness

3. Compatibility
Sometimes I feel as if some people at my college don't want to speak to me just because I don't speak the language that they speak. It's like they want to build this barrier around us when I'm trying my best to ignore the existence of that barrier. We're all equals.

4. Relativity

5. Calm

The secret to being calm is to relax. To be able to think perfectly above all the chaos and confusion.

Still haven't seen Made of Honor.

6. Silliness

7. Immaturity
Oh yes, Ayesha is immature sometimes, and she acts like a kid, and she's such an annoying pain in the neck when she laughs like no one's around her, but aren't you the same sometimes too? Besides, we all need something not serious to lighten our days.

8. Hatred

9. Short-sightedness

Sigh. Different people have different ways of looking at things, right? So why is it that we who are so alike think so differently for such a thing?
I still remember. It wasn't too long ago.

10. Pessimistic
Now you're just being an annoying pessimistic life coach!

11. Being off topic

12. Materialistic

13. Intelligent

14. Humorous

15. Nutcase

We all have too much on our plates now. No one wants to be involved with anything else that requires our commitment, let's face it. Even I try my best not to scream when someone tells me my next assignment is to scream my lungs out.

It's an assignment.

I don't want to be told what to do for fun. I want to be told what to do so that it will be beneficial.

I'm not implying that I don't like the way you are, because that's just you. It's the waves that strike ever so subtly at first that I dislike. The lack of warning sign.

But I guess the signs were already there. We were too preoccupied to notice it.
I'm sorry.

Times like these make you wish for a bucketful of water balloons and a stationary human target.

So, how do you get out of this?

Tell youself you will. Because you ALWAYS do.

Somebody loves you.

tralalala~

Poster from sumboy

It was a rather pathetic silent afternoon. So many things could have been happening on that day, but the only activity to be seen was the toad lurking in the dark corner. He moves ever so slightly once in a while.

The cat stretched its yellowish brown body under the hot sun and proceeded to sunbathe for a few moments. It then padded away silently to a shadier place, perhaps to look for some food.

Whiskas?

Mice, maybe?

Who knows. Let's follow the cat.

She senses a stranger staring at her. The toad. She hissed at the toad quietly, waiting for a response from him.

"Cast all your cares..."

John 12:46
I have come into
the world as a light,
so that no one who believes in me
should stay in darkness.

"i promise you i will learn from my mistakes"

Their performance at Live 8 is much better than the music video, which was also shot at a concert. Anyway. Listen to this song while scrolling down, if you like.

What is Live 8? Well. 1000 musicians over 11 locations perform under the same banner for one cause: to create political pressure and awareness.

Live 8 coincided with the G8 conference and summit, some political event where politicians gather to do political stuff.

Live 8 was free of charge for audience, meaning no ticket purchase was required.

Joyce-she can eat!

Sometimes, there's just some things in life that we wish we didn't find out about.

Sometimes we wish we could have just shut our mouths up.

Other times, well, you snooze you lose!

I'm currently reading a Max Lucado book about giving today a chance.

Not regretting yesterday's sins.
Not relishing in yesterday's guilt.
Not bringing up hurts and pains that have happened.

Not worrying over tomorrow's hours.
Not fretting about tomorrow's musts and wills.
Not giving a thought as to how you are going to survive in the cut-throat world tomorrow.

Not worrying about everything in life, but depending on the one and only God to provide a means for you. To be there when you need Him, to be there when you don't think He is.

Ever present. Ever knowing. Ever graceful. Ever loving.

A wave of relief washes over me when I know God is bigger than anything.
Bigger than my doubts and fears.
Bigger than any harm.
Bigger than the whole world.
Bigger than that small voice in my head.
Bigger than that small voice in your head.

Coldplay's Strawberry Swing

Wasn't supposed to listen to anything online before she hears it from the CD but...

Couldn't help it! Too tempting! I mean, if a something were called Strawberry Swing, obviously she would be curious to know more, or listen to it.

I remember
We were walking up to strawberry swing
I can't wait until the morning
Wouldn't wanna change a thing

People moving all the time
Inside a perfectly straight line
Don't you wanna curve away?
When it's such...
It's such a perfect day
It's such a perfect day

The beginning riffs revebrated Incubus' Dig, the extremely emotional and quite self-destructive song (to me at least, but I still like the song).

The lyrics itself are one-dimensional. But with the repitition of "perfect day", that just conjures up tonnes of images in one's mind.

I could describe Strawberry Swing in a 500-word article but these two words sum it all up: Breezy and beautiful.

(Which makes me wonder if Chris Martin was inspired by his wife's (Gwyneth Paltrow) ads for Estee Lauder's Pure White Linen)

The strings at the end is an apt touch-a nice closing to a great, slightly upbeat yet relaxing song.

Strawberry Swing
Coldplay accused of copying Joe Satriani (who? yeah.)

Non-Coldplay fans must be SO bored.

caramel

So, there I was, in the middle of the shopping center with a full wallet. I was only looking for:

1. Viva La Vida

2. Across the Universe

*slight expletive* AARRGGHH!!! Nothing.

Speedy's sales assistants are very much Chinese-educated, so I can't ask them anything. Like, how are you supposed to ask them if they've got "Across the Universe" VCD in Chinese? Huh? CAN YOU TRY THAT? Or "Viva La Vida"?

Popular has nothing that I was looking for-but has this Best Of compilation of Nat King Cole's songs. Deliberated if I'd like it, then remembered the superb sneak peek of Coldplay's Lost! from VLV. Lost! with a "!".

From the clipping on amazon.com, it's not mainstream but has high commercial value. Totally appropriate for a non-advocacy Nokia commercial.

VLV has two or three hidden tracks.

Number 2 is for my dad. The movie is SO underpublicised, and I've only read Su Ling's review of it ("IT ROCKS!"). Beatles fans should know what I'm
talking about. If you one and you don't know, shame on you! Hahahaha.

Jon, I finally know why you asked if I'm afraid of vaginas. Apa lah lu!

coldplay's looking up here! the picture should be a blog header.

Coldplay is very well-known in the alternative rock category. Juno Award, MTV Awards, Brit Awards, Grammies and even a Mercury Prize nomination-is there anything they cannot do? Rap, you say? Been there, done that. I hope Chris Martins' collaborations with Jay-Z and Kanye West ring a bell. 15th June 2008 marked the release of another epic production by EMI and Parlophone records by one of their biggest cash cows. That's right folks, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is now available for the listening pleasure of Malaysian Coldplayers. This time round, Coldplay shakes off its X & Y vibes and obtains a newer sound inspired by South America, Spain, Mexico-the places they've went for their last worldwide tour. Speaking of globe-trotting, there is a slight possibility that the quartet will touch Malaysian soil for the first time! Not for a concert, but for the MTV Asia Music Awards.

So, after countless times of having Singapore, Bali, Jakarta and Bangkok as the venue, the Powers That Be have decided on Genting Highlands as the venue for this year's international and regional awards show. I think I heard a "Finally!" sigh by KL yuppies and Malaysian music lovers. Guest list, you say? Think big to moderate names in the music industry in the past year: Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Justin Timberlake. Those are my personal predictions, not the official guest list. Rest assured, groupies are already putting their heads together to decide the best way to kidnap (or starnap) JT at the awards. One confirmed celebrity who will be there is Jared Leto, lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars. This piece of news has made countless fangirls faint and fanguys going "Oh goody!". Brace yourselves because we're going to be seeing a lot of Leto since he is the host of the annual music awards.

There is an 8% possibility of Coldplay touching down on Malaysian soil for the first time, since they are due to perform in Japan for the Summer Sonic Festival as part of their Viva La Vida world tour. The Japan dates are August 9 and 10, and the MTV Asia Awards are on August 2. Don't keep your hopes up, though-celebrities are known to be single tracked. Case in point: Just last year, Gwen Stefani had a concert on Monday, and Akon performed at a fireworks festival in Putrajaya on the Saturday before that. Yours truly was expecting Akon to show up at Gwen's concert for a Sweet Escape duet to make her maiden concert in Malaysia sweeter than your usual teh tarik, but there was no sign of him.

On other music news, Weezer's Pork and Beans video on YouTube has attracted a male viewership of 65%. Why am I saying this? Weezer's marketing team did not know this until recently. So you see, YouTube is not only an entertainment outlet, it is also a marketing tool. Spin Madonna's Hard Candy if you need some background party music, and watch out for Gnarls Barkley's latest album, The Odd Couple. It's no St. Elsewhere, but it's something, alright. According to sources, their latest offering is full of rhythmic sad songs. Nothing Crazy, of course.

(hypeful.com)

When I first heard their single, Going On, I thought it kind of mirrored Black Eyed Pea's Pump It rhythmically. The music video to this song (filmed in Jamaica) makes this writer want to shed a tear for no apparent reason!

Looking over to Hollywood now, Get Smart has been released in theaters. Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, The Rock and even Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) star in this big screen remake of the 70s TV show. Steve Carell plays a bumbling agent in this movie, and is assisted by the ever-lovely Agent 99 (Hathaway). Did you know that Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) and Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls) were considered for the part of Agent 99? Get Smart is not your usual agent double-oh-seven flick. One look at the movie posters confirms this.

Kungfu what? The next Pixar/Disney animation, WALL-E, will zap mister Kung Fu Panda into oblivion. WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter -- Earth-Class. All I got for you is the line
"What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off?"
Sounds lonely and ET-esque, doesn't it? There's more. He is on a journey across the universe with a few misfit robots. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, anyone?

Coming soon is also Hancock, Will Smith's latest offering about a superhero who has lost public favour. The trailer offers much promise for this movie directed by Peter Berg, who is also an actor and writer.
The Happening adds street cred to M. Night Shyamalan. Lady in the What? No one remembers his last flop now.
Mid terms over and you find your nights strangely free?
(pic taken from http://www.housemd-guide.com/, comprehensive and analytical. WOOT!)
Fret not. Dr. Gregory House is back with a roomful of interns (which is SO Grey's Anatomy) on AXN, Detective Mac Taylor and team are back for another season of crime, grime and love. You heard it right, CSI:New York has finally toed the line before they jump the shark. Desperate Housewives may be ending their latest season soon on 8TV but Media Prima (who owns TV3, NTV7 and 8TV) will make it up to you with a new season of Grey's Anatomy and season one of Private Practice on NTV7.

The format for today's post sounds weird, doesn't it? Well, you'll know why soon enough, if an e-version of it ever appears somewhere else other than here.

Gnarls Barkley's Going On

BANANA 2.0

I learnt a new phrase today! Banana 2.0 (banana-two-point-oh) from today's CSI episode. (The usual term is second banana.)
The weirdest ep so far in this season. They poked fun at Two and a Half Men, CBS and writers.

Grissom: (at the suspects who got away) Hey! We'll be watching you.
Suspect: (referring to their new show) Mondays 9.30, 8.30 central.

Okay. This game is whacked. Because I'm smart I did not put the real name of my crushes (you nuts?!).

Super fun, highly recommended.

Like my friend Khadijah, she abhors accountancy and doesn't want to have kids. The MASH game predicts that she'll be an accountant and have 14 kids.

As for me, well...

bad mood so i'm posting pictures of pretty chapels in guam.

If you a dude, try being emo. That usually works.

GUAM!!! It's a small island south of China or Taiwan. Totally owned by the US of A. Check out their chapels.

St. Leo Chapel, the Blue Aster, Laguna Chapel and a few more chapels which names I've forgotten.

Girls, look at those places and try to tell me you don't want to get married there!
(Yes, I know that to even get a small group of people for a wedding in Guam would require me to marry a rich tycoon [or his son] but hey, a girl always has space in her mind for dreams.)

10+5=15

OH I got tagged!
Rules: The selected blogger must say 10 things about themselves. Then tag 5 other people to do the tag.
(since i got tagged twice, i'll do 15)

1. When I got the news of petrol price increase, Mix FM was playing Matchbox 20's These Hard Times.

2. I like yellow. Coldplay yellow.

3. Once, during kawad practice, the commander told us to stand still and not move or talk for 15 minutes.
I had a fit of laughter for 10 minutes. When they asked me what was wrong, I doubled over and laughed some more.

4. I want to learn to sing. Opera.

5. I'm a bulimic blogger. (withdraw from blogging for a few days, and come back with many posts-this is my third today)

6. I just created the term bulimic blogger.

7. Will never get braces. Sakit dei.

8. Avoiding Musique Day article.

9. I know where the line is.

10. Will Wiki/Google "quantitative decompostition"-new CSI term. Did anyone see Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters there?! When I saw the first three failed experiments I thought, "Mythbuster-worthy!" and BAM there they were! The writers are geniuses.

11. Never had my heart broken before. HAH!

12. Called Jan Quin 22 times in half an hour on a Friday night. Amounted to RM 1.38 (She didn't answer)

13. Never ate at Italliennes (?) and TGI Fridays.

14. 13 is enough.

15. 15 is too much.

I tag.

here you go

These are pictures of stuff I drew a long time ago.
(I know I've got this scanner, but I don't know how to use it, so yeah =P)

If you can guess who this chick with too much shadow in the neck area is, I'll give you a lollipop.
And if you find out where and when she looked like this, I'll give you TWO. How's about that?

She looks too hard to identify. Okay, here's another clue:

This one needs no introduction.

(If you can't recognize who this is, imagine McDreamy next to her)

This is what she actually wore:

Speaking of Patrick Dempsey (I don't find him hot either)-can I tag along if someone wants to watch Made of Honor?

owe no man anything except love

Let me tell you what happened last Sunday. Pastor Henry was at church, preaching specially for Father's Day. He then introduced Deborah to the church-she's this pint-sized 11-year old, and she was going to preach a sermon.

"Not just any sermon, it will be the best sermon you've ever heard!" says Pastor Henry.

So Deborah went on stage and started reciting chapters 5, 6 AND 7 of Matthew.

You want to know how long was the Sermon on the Mount? Read this.
Chapter 7 is at the bottom of the page.

Why am I pointing this out? Deborah did not read it straight from the Bible like you and I would have. She read it straight from her MEMORY.

I am not kidding you. If you want I can give you a VCD of last Sunday's service.

This, of course, has happened before-there was the little boy of about 8 who recited all of Psalm 91, and his 5 year old brother had Matthew 5 memorized.

It is amazing what God can do with these kids.

Brings me to Matthew 19:14-
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

FOOD BANK
The church always had two big boxes at the foyer for dry food items. These will be rationed for poorer families around the town. But as we all know, petrol and rice prices have risen drastically. It's hard to imagine how to live without money and all, and how to contribute to those who need it more.

So. As you can imagine (or not), Pastor Ronald said this the Sunday before:

"All of us have a little oil with us. Resources. Little oil. We have to keep asking God for expansion, miracles, more resources to expand. Christians are to expand, not to shrink back."

Please bear in mind that we are blessed to bless others. Not to keep the blessings to ourselves.

So, Pastor Ronald challenged the church-50 bags of rice(or was it 100?) by the next week. Raise your hand if you want to contribute to the food bank, he said.

And, just like that-wow. It's totally amazing what God can do, I tell you, because in every line, there were at least two or three hands up. And there are 30+ lines of chairs in the church, not counting the balcony.
It's times like these that really really....leaves you speechless as to what God can do. I kid you not again.

I took a picture of the food collection box this Sunday, and...

"God will provide" were the words stitched on a purse I once saw.
If, according to the Bible, God will provide for the sparrows, won't He provide even more for you?

12th July and 12th July.
They're like...apples and oranges.

I can't decide which to go for, really, but the following promotional video will tell you which:

(Hey....I KNOW THAT PLACE! Awesome-I wonder who made this video.)

Imagine, if you will-if Legacy's flyer looks like that, I wonder how the T-Shirt will look like. And the preaching! Ooh.

caspian x

My review of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

-Some reviews I read notes that this Narnia is more Christian-ish than the previous one. I don't see the Christian elements much at all in this installment. It was more evident in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to me. I mean, the resurrection of Aslan and all that.

-The fight scenes are at par with the one in the previous movie. I know it's bad to compare, but I felt like PC didn't have the energy or the soul of the battle between evil and good in it.
Compare the battle of the evil uncle with the battle with the White Witch.

-The battle scenes can never be on par with LOTR. Don't even bother comparing epic proportions of mega-coolness with something Disney, that's just sad. I don't like LOTR. Never did, never will.

-The costumes are pretty. And so are the sceneries. Where did they shoot this movie anyway? New Zealand?

-Prince Caspian? Hot?

Are you KIDDING me? Am I the only female on earth who thinks this guy is not hot?

Hot is Ikea hot dogs.

Justin Timberlake.
Cannolis.

For goodness' sake, Adam Levine! Chris Martin! Anyone but Ben Barnes!

-Low (T-Pain and Flo Rida) is stale. Shawty Get Loose (Lil' Mama, T-Pain, Chris Brown) is fierce!
