My December is the song of a Linkin Park original and Kelly Clarkson's latest album.

December 4th: Last SPM paper.

cintailah bahasa kebangsaan kita

I got this from Poh Leong's blog. It is super interesting.

>Bahasa Kebangsaan kita sesungguhnya mengelirukan. Biar saya menceritakan satu cerita berunsurkan gelak ketawa.
>Orang Cina jenis tulen melompat terlebih dahulu. "E, Er, San, Se, Uuh, Liu, Chee, Pa, Ciu, Ser." Dia membuka flying umbrella payung terbangnya dan berada dalam keadaan yang selamat.
>Orang Cina jenis pisang pula melompat kemudian. "One, Two, Three, Four... Ten." Dia pun selamat.
>Orang Melayu pula melihat kejayaan mereka berasa sungguh perasaan-lompat-lompat, dia pun lompatlah. "Satu, Dua, Tiga, Empat, LIMA, ENAM, TUJUH, LA..."
>Suku-kata yang terlampau banyak membahayakan nyawa kita. Terimas.

i like being truthful, unless i'm being tactless.

Have you got this email about a dancing woman? It says if you see it turning clockwise, you're using your right brain.
The image can turn both ways, I've seen it, but I don't know if it's an optical illusion or what. The email also says that you're a genius if you can see it turn both ways.

Sharing secrets is so much fun. Why bother keeping them?

I have this slight utter dislike for people who say "that's so random" since Bawanie pointed out that whatever they say is random isn't. IT'S NOT RANDOM IF YOU SAY IT IS, because nothing is unless it's from a radioactive substance. Now THEY are random.

I don't like foreign workers. Note I don't hate them, I just don't like them. There's this air around them. You know, that kind-and I hope it's just because they bring their culture and way of life here and nothing worse than that.

At the place where I stay, you can see foreign women wearing pyjamas out in the daylight. I know we Malaysians are lazy, but wow...I mean, it's 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday morning. And this woman flaunts her sleeping attire out to the public in the BROAD DAYLIGHT as if it's normal in this country!

What about norma masyarakat Malaysia? Why can't they try to live like us? ie not wearing pyjamas in public?! I do hope that when we go overseas to work/study we don't do embarassing things that will mencemarkan nama baik Malaysia.

Gambatte to those who are sitting for PMR!

As of today, SPM is 38 days away. Have to start reading the Sejarah textbook like it's the Bible now. Omygoodness. It is soo. SOOO. SOOO. Interesting.
I LOVE SEJARAH!

Especially chapter 6 and 7 in Form Four! And the last chapter of form four! They are TERRIBABLY interesting! It adds to my knowledge!

I can actually use Sejarah facts in my life!
Like if I see a person who's in front of me at the bank queue, I can tap him on the shoulder and start explaining to him about the kepentingan penubuhan Malayan Union! How cool is that?!
I'd better memorise the nama-nama anggota from Suruhanjaya Reid as well, in case someone out there needs to know!

SEJARAH ROCKS!

AND check this out! I found an emoticon that looks EXACTLY like Hiro Nakamura saying "YATTA!"

\('.')/ "YATTA!"

I assure you it looks better on a handphone screen.

the chatbox is polluted enough (replies)

Khadijah: but then again, why stop at a brinjal? Let's shove all of the society's reaction up its arse.

Shannon: Like Khadijah puts it, put yourself in the parent's shoes.
Your child has been missing for over a month.
You don't know whether or not she's taking her medication, and you don't know if she's crying for you day and night.
You don't know if she's in harms' way.
You don't know what she's into now.
You pray to God every single moment of the day that she IS alive and safe somewhere.
Your family members also pray.
All of you have hopes that she'll be back before Hari Raya.
You're just expecting her to walk through that door and say "Assalamualaikum!".
Then you get the news that the body in the bag may be her.
What would you do?

However I have to agree with you that the government is "truly lacking" in some ways-like how they informed the media first that the DNA matched Nurin before informing the parents.
And now they're going to charge the parents! How idiotic is that action? What about the case of the mother who locked her daughter in a cage? What does SHE get?
And yes, life is not fair but in the end, God's judgement will be.

Nisha: Yes, you do have a point: we DO pray for those who persecute us. Anyway, I don't hate the beast who did this to Nurin, I just dislike the beast with Great Intensity.
The problem with us is that we're humans, we're bound to be hypocritical at times.
Also, sometimes I think (deep down) that the justice system will not bring justice in this case, because Nurin was a girl of eight who barely got to know what's life all about.
Brutally assaulted and murdered she was, and yes, she is in heaven, as her dad puts it, by a very insane way.

Her killer, no matter how much the society spits on him will not...what's the word...menyesal.

may her family have strength

Do you know what should be done with Nurin's killer?

The killer should be placed in the compound at the night market where she went missing and let him be handled by the night market vendors, her neighbours and her family.

As much pain and torture, spit and trash be disposed upon the murderer, who is worse than an animal, for an animal would not even do such a thing to another being.

That killer should not be put into jail. Tell me, what justice is done if that killer is hung just like that?

I say give that killer a taste of its own medicine-torture him and let him bleed to death.

Humanitarians unite!

must watch

i can't post this video here cos the embed code is disabled, but this is a MUST WATCH if you like music.

This is Timbaland - The Way I Are ft. Keri Hilson on piano. It's a rhapsody.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TgLiEzL-vg

If you're not familiar with Timbaland, here's Hey There Delilah Sonata by the same pianist.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLplz_s2-uM

All the videos by this lady made my jaw drop. Cherylyn, if you're reading this, I'm going to pay you to get the piano scores by listening to the video over and over again 'cos the sheets aren't available.

I just heard Kanye West and Chris Martin (Colpdlay) punya collaboration for Homecoming-very catchy! In case you're wondering like me, no, Kanye never made a collab with Chris before.
The collaboration you might have in mind was Heard 'Em Say with Adam Levine (Maroon 5) in 2004-another catchy song. Strange cos Chris and Adam sound almost the same.
Jay-Z also collaborated with Chris for Beach Chair-a weird interpretation of rap but very interesting nevertheless.

I think Beach Chair and Homecoming will never be hits on the radio, granted the songs are great.

my two cents

is it still saturday?

I know the posts are long. I can't help but blog like a girl!

Let me try blogging like a guy now.

[guy mode]
I cut my hair.
It's short.
...
I put some music on the blog. I hope you guys like it.
"Dota talk"
"Counterstrike talk"
"O2Jam talk"
Need to go study now. Sejarah is a killer man.
[/guy mode]

I know, I failed miserably!
I just remembered that guys cannot multitask, so it was either Dota, Counterstrike OR O2Jam.

From,
It's a want, not a need, ergo you can live without it.

saturday

At 7.15pm, I asked Cherylyn if she'd like to join me to watch An Inconvenient Truth at church. I doubted that she would come but she made it anyway, and I'm glad.

An Inconvenient Truth is a movie everyone is duty-bound to watch. Seriously.
So my promise is to pray and be an environmentalist, which is what I'm doing now.
Also I will be taking fork and spoon to school instead of using plastic ones, which are TOTALLY non-biodegradable.
What will YOU do to make your mark on this earth as an intelligent human being who cares for the environment, other than getting that (ridiculous-it doesn't help the environment at all!) green iPod?

I urge all of you to say no to car rides!
Say no to styrofoam boxes!

My poem. Titled Nosebleed

I had a nosebleed
It was twice
It was red and crimson
With some scarlet

I had a nosebleed
It was warm
It trickled and
It splashed and
Made a mess

I had a nosebleed.

This is what's eating U-Mae's diet. Literally. Sweet 16. Get it? AHAHAHAHA lol I know.

friday

CSI:Miami; episode title, High Octane

The producers of CSI:Miami know how to make an unforgettable episode of car stunts gone wrong: use a shake your moneymaker song in the beginning and end the first chapter with a high-tension string decapitating a human head.

picture taken from cbs.com. the murder weapon

Synopsis from www.csifiles.com:
"When a man is decapitated while doing a daring stunt with his car, the team suspects that it was more than just an accident. During evidence collection, the CSIs enter the world of 'sideshows,' where kids gather in tricked-out cars, mostly stolen, performing dangerous stunts. However, when Horatio discovers that the victim's car's hydraulics where tampered with, he detects that the accident may be been staged as a diversion to a more serious, yet lucrative, crime."

Granted, I watched it on the eve of the physics paper. The episode DID mention the hydraulic system, though-the one that works based on Pascal's Principle, LOL.

I thought this episode was one of the best of this season, other than last week's. Last week's one was the crazy episode where Horatio had to act cool, drive what looked like a Hummer to the beach and walk away when it combusted, saying "Burn, baby burn,".
Talk about drama, haha. First and foremost, I am not a supportor of cars and drifting, but you know CSI:Miami-they make everything look cool.

However I find it adorable that Ryan Wolfe had to ask
"What's drifting?"
Oh yeah. Like a CSI doesn't know that. In Miami sumore, where all the cool edgy cases happen.

Well, the only drifting scenes were in the beginning. I thought they looked too high-class. There were lots of cam phones too.

I also noted that in this episode, Ryan toned down his fashion sense by wearing a normal sweater on the outside while Eric was wearing what looked like Ryan's clothes: the dress shirt and that expensive-looking dinner jacket. It was very obvious that they wore each other's clothes.

Luckily in this episode, Calleigh decided to ditch her bright-coloured clothes for more sensible, toned-down ones.

High Octane also used a lot of funny gangsta-rap songs. You know the song that goes They try to catch me dirty or something like that? It was also used in this episode. I was laughing my butt off when I heard it.

The decapitation was interesting. Apparently, the murderer used a handphone controlled device to activate the hydraulic system normally used to pimp or pump up a car.

picture taken from cbs.com
The car was raised from 6 inches off the ground to 17 inches, a considerable amount. The height caused the victim to be in contact with a high tension cable with mentol bulbs on it from a fair. So how did the victim's head got out of the car, you asked?

Well, the victim was doing a stunt they call Jack-in-the-box. He sat on the sunroof of the car with his feet steering the wheels. Basically he was avoiding all the cables pretty well but the heightened height at the end disabled him to do so.

There was this character called Luke Baylor in this ep and he's very good looking. Apparently the actor was also in Material Girls, the movie with Hilary and Haylie Duff. Here's his page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1324844/ and this is how he looks like:

picture from imdb.com. looks a bit like michael buble.

Khadi told me there's a place in Section 14 selling religious paraphelia (however you call it lah) and I thought of: Buddha statues and incense sticks. LOL, then she told me that they sold Christian stuff 'cos the woman in a picture of the article was wearing a Psalm 23 t-shirt. Anyway, Khadi, if you're reading this, whatever it is that you and D wanted to buy for me I say go ahead and buy it but personally I prefer a bible. But hey, it's the thought that counts, right? Ahahaha.

Happy birthday Janielle!

transition elements, amy winehouse's back to black

In life, we should be like transition elements.

Among the physical properties of transition elements are they are good conductors of electricity and heat. We should learn to conduct these things as they are critical for life.

Besides that transition elements can form colored compounds. We should be colorful to attract the attention of other people, especially future clients of our future law firms.

Transition elements can also form complex ions. In life we should be complex to confuse our enemies. Among the complex ions transition elements can form are potassium hexacyannoferrate (II) and (III).
Also remember that transition elements have variable (many) oxidation numbers, like copper which can be copper (II) and (III). [2+ and 3+] Therefore we should also learn to be like that, that is to have multiple personalities. If having multiple personalities scare you, you should be a Jack of all trades, as that is what transition elements are too.

Not only are transition elements used as crystals due to their color(amethyst, ruby, etc) they are also used as catalysts, like iron powder and platinum. Now, you may be asking why should we be like catalysts? Well, being a catalyst in life enables us to help others to be the best they can be without compromising on the quality of our own life.
Transition elements can be found in groups 3 to 12 in the periodic table.

Happy belated birthday Bawanie Rachel!
"Don't tell me your house there no CC ah?"-that guy's line will forever be embedded in our memories. Not so much his name though. Sad.
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me,"

Amy Winehouse's Back To Black gets an 8.7/10 from me. There are almost no bad songs here, and the msot teruk thing from this album is it might not be a hit among teenagers. Plus, I'm not a big fan of Wake Up Alone. Anyway...

Among the songs I thought stood out was Tears Dry Up on Their Own-it sounds very old, very grandiose too in its own style. It reminds me of Ain't No Mountain High Enough for some reason-maybe it's the way the song leads up to the chorus!
He Can Only Hold Her is a great end to a musically interesting album.
*standing ovation*

There was a post a few weeks back with only a picture of Gym Class Heroes. Remember that? Well, we didn't get to go to SINGFEST but we, I mean SHE got the GCH album, As Mean As School Children.

I've listened to it, and it's nothing to shout about 'cos I don't like that genre (rap/hip hop/whatever) but I find the Sloppy Love Jingle Parts 1, 2 and 3 very funny-it's like a stand up comedy, except it's all rap.
Thank you Hitz FM for spoiling my sister.

By the way, speaking of sisters, I've just dropped by Siti Sarah (Khadijah's sister)'s blog, and I must say she sure loves her big sister a lot! There's even a link to Khadi's friends on her blog! Wishful thinking, but what would I not give for my sister to treat me better.

Going once, going twice...!

Among all the stories I've read through the e-mails I've gotten, this one probably makes the most sense.

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.'

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son.. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings...Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the long-time gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'

'$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings?'

'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

trials begin on monday

picture taken from amazon.com. doesn't she look like The Thinker here?

I'm listening to Amy Winehouse (yes, the drug addict slash singer)'s latest album, Back To Black.
My sister got this album from a contest. She has a blog too, and I didn't know that.

Anyway...Amy Winehouse is a talented singer-her music speaks for herself. However so does her attitude. Cherylyn says:
yeah... i read somewhere she's kinda cuckoo

I have yet to go through the whole album. It starts with Rehab. The one on radio is the entertaining one with Jay-Z. Seriously, doesn't it sound entertaining? It's like drama on radio. The Rehab version on Back To Black doesn't have Jay-Z's rap in it.

One song that I've heard and like is You Know I'm No Good. The beat sounds like a rainy day even more than Umbrella's beat. Overall it has a soulful taste to it, like the whole album (according to a review). The basses and trumpets also sound like they work together very well here. The trumpets add some very high-class emo style to the song. I think this song should have been called Trouble, but YKING is a nice title too. Here's an excerpt of the lyrics:

Then you notice likkle carpet burn,
My stomach drops and my guts churn,
You shrug and it's the worst,
Who truly stuck the knife in first

What does "likkle" mean?

There's also a song on the album called Back To Black. I've seen the music video-it's all black and white. Here's the dramatic lyrics:

I die a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to black

This is not that kind of song you'd expect to hear on Hitz FM, but it's definitely one of the best songs on the CD. Very emotional and musically inclined too, not like the kind of things you teenagers listen to these days-I mean, how can you all put up with songs like "This Is Why I'm Hot"? What's so hot about Mims I don't know but I know that song is WEEEEEEEEIRD.

I went to U-Mae's birthday party last Saturday. It was fun and tasty (the food lah doink). Today's her birthday.
I still remember one of your birthdays-was it the sixth or the fifth?-when you had this enourmous pink Barbie doll birthday cake which stood on its own. The dress was soo frilly. And pink.

HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY U-MAE!
(sorry i can't make the words flash/blink/change color/pink)

-gosh, she's going back to black too-

kemerdekaan itu kebebasan

Picture taken from zlwin.blogspot.com
(jubilee celebration at Grace)

today's tuesday

It was not yet six pm, but a long line of people were already queing up for the food. They received the styrofoam box placed in their hand and walked down the corridor in an orderly manner.

First, rice was piled into the box. Then a spoonful of hot curry covered the rice. A packet of Nesvita is given out along with a straw and finally there were the bananas and the biscuits.

The surrounding was definitely different from Klang, I must say. The tarred road, which leads to a dead end is covered with grime and dust. The tall buildings all around gave all of its shadows to the road and the five feet corridors. Success may lie in the buildings but who should know what came together with the success?
The people were different, too, but no more different than you and I. Some were old and bent doubled by age, a few still had traces of youthful energy in them. Still others owned lines of age on their faces.

I'm sure all of them had a different story to tell. Abusive husband, maybe. Quarelling parents, irresponsible children. Broken hearts and healing bone fractures. Radiotherapy and rats.

The cardboard in the old man's hand maybe his bed.

Meskipun saya tidak tinggal di tepi jalan seperti mereka, I still wonder about their living conditions and why they put up with it. There are shelters and such, but I guess they do not want to give up living as they are now.

There is One who looks at all of us all the time. Our every step we make is watched, every word spoken. He is the one who loves us, the one who, as Raoul sings in Phantom of the Opera, "will guard and guide".

"...he restores my soul"

"it's called thinking ahead"-HAHAHAHA right.....

The title itself sounds shallow. Well, I got tagged by (in order. Man, I'm taggable. Ignore the egoism): U-Mae, Iona, Khadijah and Cherylyn.

Rules:
1. The tag victim has to come up with 8 different points about his/her perfect lover.
2. Have to mention the gender of his/her perfect lover.
3. Tag eight other victims to join this game and leave a comment on their blog.
4. If you are tagged the second time, there is NO need to do this again.
5. Lastly, and most importantly, HAVE FUN DOING IT.

My perfect lover has to be male. 'Nuff said.

1. I notice that almost none of the girls who did this put in this point, but the first criteria for me is he has to love me.

2. U-Mae said: a family man. My perfect lover has to be a Jesus man. I don't really mind about anything else, but the thing that I look out for is that he has to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
He has to know his priorities, and know who he's living for. If he can memorise scriptures, that'll be a bonus point. LOL. He has to be on fire for God and should be willing to be a matyr. We should be like iron sharpen iron.
However, if he's a free thinker, I'll introduce him to Jesus.

3. He has to be intelligent.
By intelligent I mean, he knows who he is: a God-fearing person who detests smoking, drinking, malice, slander, gossip and injustice. Intelligent also means that he should keep a calender for my PMS outbursts. HAHAHAHAHA. Also, intelligent means he has to be honest. Honesty is the best policy because I cannot tahan people who try to hide things. Musical-can play a music instrument.
Anyway, intelligence is subjetive.

4. He has to be environmentally-friendly
Prefarably bio-degradable and drives a smart car.

5. He has to know how to do the housework
Well, the least he should know is cooking and ironing the clothes ('cos that's what my dad does at home). It would be nice if he can cook something other than fried eggs and Maggi/Mamee/Cintan Mee.

6. HE CANNOT BE ADDICTED TO FOOTBALL.
The perfect lover CANNOT BE ADDICTED TO FOOTBALL. Instead, he should be addicted to Formula One, dart, tennis or Formula Two.

7. He has to have my father's qualities
All the good qualities of my father lah, like cooking, has a sense of humor, friendly and outgoing, and like Pastor John says, COURAGEOUS! He definately has to be courageous! I cannot tahan people who are so quiet. Memang tak boleh tahan, my hand will itch like want to slap them. But he cannot be TOO loud until it comes to a point of being annoying. Then I will slap him too. My father also likes to eat, so he has to be willing to try all kinds of food. He should eat those food with me and not worry about my weight.
But he cannot ever ever ever touch beer or cigarettes.

8. WE HAVE TO BE BEST FRIENDS.
You know how they say you shouldn't marry your best friends? I say friendship is the essence that keeps a marriage together. Therefore, my perfect lover has to already be a friend I know. I wouldn't want to get married to my crush-it would mean sweaty hands, fast heart beat and twitchy eye (haha) all the time. Can you imagine that? That would suck SO MUCH.
(nudge nudge wink wink)
It's like the title to this picture I found on Flickr:
It Is Not A Lack Of Love, But A Lack Of Friendship That Makes Unhappy Marriages

(taken from http://www.flickr.com/photos/journeytonowhere/)
When I say we have to be friends, it means that he can stand my disgusting habits all the time and be tolerant, even adore my scream. JK.

Of course, there's no such thing as a perfect lover. And if you notice, I added in more than 8 criterias. I just made it up as I did it, except numbers 1 to 4.
1. Anyway, I would like to tag Bawanie but she already got tagged.
2. I don't feel like tagging anyone else, but since this blogger called Gwen has been commenting a lot, I guess I should tag her.
3. I would like to tag my sister but she doesn't have a blog and she's too young to do these kind of tags.
4. Also, I want to tag my future other half but since I don't know who that is, I guess I would be wasting my time trying to tag people.

Selain itu, I wonder what U-Mae and Iona thinks of this list now that they've seen it.
